2005 Volvo S60 R, 300hp, New Ac System, Awd, New Tires & Brakes, Just Tuned Up on 2040-cars
Kernersville, North Carolina, United States
2005 Volvo S60 R automatic. I am the third owner and bought it when it had 165,000 miles on it. It now has 201,000 miles on it, but it is all highway miles. Very good overall condition. Soft dent in bottom of driver door, scuff marks on driver side trim, couple dings here and there, but the paint is still very clean. Car has thin clear plastic mask on it so the front-end is not nicked up from rocks. 6 CD player does not work, but everything else does. Driver seat has vertical seam that has come apart because of failed threads. Estimate to fix is $125. Solid and fast with beautifully supportive seats. Non smoking vehicle. New AC system was put in when I bought the car in 2012. It has new tires, brakes, and spark plugs. It is automatic. Has ground kit on it and 18" rims. Selling because we are downsizing. Listed price is "or best offer" so reasonable offers will be considered. Car is being sold as-is, no warranty expressed or implied. A deposit will be required within 24 hours of purchase agreement, and would like to have the car picked up within 5 days of sale. Cash is best, but will take pre-approved bank loan check too. No financing.
I would prefer not to have to deal with shipping the car, but if this is a must then I can help point you in the right direction. |

Watch Volvo's V8 Supercar drivers play with the Polestar S60 in the Arctic
Thu, 03 Apr 2014The Volvo S60 Polestar may not seem like a natural fit for the V8 Supercars series that runs throughout Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania. After all, the all-wheel-drive production-spec car isn't even available with a V8. But the rear-wheel-drive racing version has acquitted itself well in the early races of the season, even scoring an overall win at a race in Melbourne. Currently at seventh place in the championship, the S60 the most successful car that isn't a Holden or Ford.
To celebrate its burgeoning success, Volvo sent its V8 Supercars drivers Robert Dahlgren and Scott McLaughlin to home base in Sweden to have some fun driving in the snow and to visit Polestar headquarters. The two of them do some big power slides on an icy lake and then taker a deeper look into the company's performance division. Scroll down to watch the video full of sliding Swedish sedans.
First production Volvo P1800 stolen
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Want further proof that car thieves are the scum of the Earth? Some crooks in Sweden made off with a prized Volvo - the very first production P1800. The P1800, a two-door coupe, is a classic that's been growing in popularity over the years, thanks in no small part to its gorgeous sheetmetal.
This particular example, wearing chassis number two, wears red paint with a white interior. It was swiped from a locked storage facility in Stockholm, according to Hemmings, between August 21 and 22. The P1800 was owned by Mats Eriksson, vice president of the Swedish P1800 Club, who had given it a thorough restoration. Features to look out for on this particular car include the unique wheel covers shown in the gallery, and two different registration plates - C28000 and ACZ 780.
Larmtjänst AB, a non-profit that fights vehicle crimes in Sweden, is accepting any and all information pertaining from the theft. If you, or anyone you know, was in Stockholm on the night of the days of the theft or has seen a red P1800 in the Scandinavian region, head over to the Larmtjänst AB website to submit a tip.
Volvo studying test of electric roads in Sweden
Tue, 27 May 2014Volvo already announced the results of a study of wireless charging using a stationary C30, and now it's embarking on a more ambitious study of wireless charging involving moving city buses. Next year, in conjunction with the Swedish Transport Association, Volvo will build a section of electric road up to 500 meters long that would use inductive charging to refill the batteries while the bus drives over it.
Right now, the company's Hyper Bus diesel hybrid has to stop to plug in and charge at the end of its route. The company is looking for a way to keep buses in service while being able to run on electric power for greater lengths of time. The new line used for the study will be called ElectriCity, and will come online in central Gothenburg sometime in 2015. There's a press release below with more information.
