2004 Silver Volvo C70 Convertible Fixer Special Best Buy In The U.s.a on 2040-cars
Bothell, Washington, United States
Original silver finish with clean Charcoal gray leather interior. The car runs excellent.
Nice motor. Drives good. Most everything works (not all) The top is nice. The tire and wheels are nice. Clean trunk and clean under the hood. Has paint scrapes on drivers side and else where. Hood has small dent. Front headlight assembly needs to be replaced. Various service lights are lit on dash. (I dont know?)Battery is shot, CV makes noise, transmission is tired...clunks and slips. But I did just drive it 50 miles on the freeway at 70 mph. Ran good. Drove good. Also drivers window switch button is missing.. don't know if window works. This is a nice car but a fixer. Please don't call unless ready to buy. I mean that politely. Thank you very much. I have tried to be candid. This car has almost a $7000 blue book price and is a bargain anyway you look at it. My name is Brian O'Neill. I have ran my family owned business in the same location serving our community and many others throughout the country for over 35 years. If you would like to give me a call I will give you a very thorough and detailed description. Thank you very much. I am up on my cell late until 12. You can also call me 24/7. Thanks a lot. -Brian (206) 819-4422 |

Volvo Pure Tension concept folds solar charging pavilion into trunk
Tue, 16 Jul 2013Even by the 'anything-goes' standards of concept cars, this one is a head-spinner: the "Pure Tension" Volvo V60 Pavilion, commissioned by Volvo Italy and winner of the Pure Volvo Pavilion Design competition. The alien form seen hovering all over the rendered V60 is a pavilion, as in the kind erected for trade shows or outdoor events. Developed by Synthesis Design + Architecture, Buro Happold, and Fabric Images, the pavilion is a flexible mesh structure held in place by a carbon fiber rods.
What's more, the mesh is embedded with photovotaic cells so that the pavilion can absorb energy from the sun or indoor lighting, making it a portable charging station. It can power itself or the crossover, the V60 at the center of it all being a diesel hybrid that plugs straight into the pavilion. When it's time to go, the entire structure can be folded small enough to fit in the trunk of the car.
We're told it will be shown in September in Rome. Even if we never see this particular creation on the streets, it's comfortable proof that our future will eventually be wilder than we can imagine.
Volvo agrees to transfer tech to new parent Geely
Tue, 11 Dec 2012Following the acquisition of Volvo by China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group in 2010, we definitely saw this news coming. The two companies have signed an agreement that will give Chinese automaker Geely access to key technologies developed by Volvo, and in turn, the deal could help the Swedish automaker lower its production costs.
As a part of the "technological cooperation agreements" signed by both companies, Automotive News China reports that Geely will be able to tap Volvo for three much-needed technologies, including the use of a midsize platform, Volvo's proven safety innovations and interior air quality systems. The latter two technologies are important to improve the crashworthiness of Geely's cars, along with helping isolate vehicle occupants from China's often severe air pollution. The report says that Volvo tech will likely be used on a premium car brand that Geely is expected to create.
Volvo, on the other hand, is to benefit from the "local market exploration experience and cost control experience" of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, which is technical way of saying that Volvo will be able reduce its costs by tapping into Geely's established supply chain.
New Volvo ad remembers the joy of rear-facing jump seats
Mon, 19 May 2014With the rise in popularity of first the minivan and later the crossover as the default family vehicle, there have been about 20 years of children who have missed out on the joy of rear-facing jump seats in station wagons. It means kids today don't know the pleasure to be found in making faces or lewd gestures at other drivers while their parents can't see. Plus, they don't know the slightly nauseous feeling of watching the world pass by in reverse. However, a group of filmmakers look back with nostalgia at this increasingly uncommon automotive feature in a new ad for the 2015 Volvo V60.
As part of its sponsorship of the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, Volvo commissions a team each year to create an advertisement to be shown during the festival. This year's shows how the company's buyers have gone from riding in the back to driving the brand's cars. Scroll down to check out the charming ad, along with some wistful looks at classic Volvo wagons, before the jump seat is forgotten.
