This listing is for a 1991 volvo 240, car starts every time, runs well, shifts great.  I drive it about 20 miles roundtrip 5 days a week and has never failed me in the past 6 months.  I bought the car with a salvaged title.  The only thing i have done to it was buy the 15 inch Turbo wheels and have given it an oil change. Body repairs were already complete when I bought it.  Repairs were done to quarter panel and driver side passenger door (repairs can be seen in pics).

Vehicle is being sold as-is and is not perfect but overall looks great inside and out.

True miles are unknown as of about a month ago reason why I am selling it.  The speedometer started acting up and wasn't registering the speed. There is days that it will work and days it will not work.  When the speedometer works the miles do register on the odometer so odometer does work as well as the trip meter.  Not sure if its a simple fix, but im not car savvy and don't have the extra cash to spend to fix.

Car has power windows and power locks, all windows work, but at times roll up and down slowly.  Car has original radio and speakers but only one speaker works, and not well.  Will need repairs to radio.  Car does not have original antenna so not sure if thats the problem.

Car has A/C but does not blow cold, heater does work.

Driver front seat Large knob sometimes comes off, but does not affect the adjustment of the seat.

Interior is about a 7 out of 10 no tears on seats or carpets, there is a crack on dash (pics).

Exterior is a 7 out of 10 paint is good some chipping and hood is faded compared to the rest of the car,, right taillight has small crack (pic).  Repairs to driver side passenger door are evident(pics).  Tint on the car looks good, but was not done professionally.

Car is California registered until August 2014. Salvaged Title.

Car runs great and shifts great, there is squeaks here and there that I hear when I drive it, but it starts right up everyday. There is no known problems.

Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping of this vehicle and would have to make arrangements.

The car must be paid within 10 days and a deposit of 500 is due within 48 hours.

My car is being listed in as-is condition and no warranties are expressed or implied.

Please feel free to message me with any questions.  I will be more than happy to answer them.

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k

Tue, 07 Oct 2014

Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.

2015 Volvo XC90 proves Sweden's auto industry is alive and well [w/video]

Fri, 03 Oct 2014

The most important new Volvo in quite some time has made its first auto show appearance, with the second-generation XC90 debuting at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
As we discussed in both our original post and Deep Dive feature, the new XC90 remains a three-row crossover for 2015, although it ditches the first-gen model's top-end, turbocharged six-cylinder in favor of a single twin-charged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. By pairing that with a plug-in-electric powertrain, the king of the XC90 range, the T8 TwinEngine, will offer up 400 horsepower. So yeah, performance should be brisk.
Also appearing on 2015 XC90 will be an entirely new, Apple CarPlay-compatible infotainment system with a big, vertical touchscreen display at its heart. Based on the videos we've seen, the new system looks responsive, feature-laden and quite attractive.

Tony Nicolosi confirmed as Volvo's North American CEO

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

This past October, John Maloney stepped down from his post as CEO at Volvo Cars North America. In his place, the Swedish automaker tentatively promoted Tony Nicolosi, who had until then served as head of Volvo Car Financial Services. The appointment was reportedly temporary, giving Nicolosi the title of acting CEO. But according to Automotive News, his position has now been confirmed for the long run.
Although Volvo has yet to announce a new director for its financial arm, Nicolosi says they have found the right person and will announce sometime between now and the National Automobile Dealers Association convention, set to take place later this month in New Orleans.
Last month, Volvo also announced that its global communications chief Bodil Eriksson is moving from the home office in Gothenburg to the North American office in Rockleigh, New Jersey. Anders Kärrberg has been promoted from the government affairs post to take Eriksson's place.
