I'm selling my 1972 VW Fastback. It's blue with very, very light purple ghost flames. Car has no bumpers. Engine runs great and just had a valve adjustment, carbs synced and new premium plugs and wires. It has dual Weber carbs and a 4-speed manual transmission. Has custom exhaust. Interior is ok condition . Has black vinyl bucket seats and Driver's seat has tears in it. Has gauges fitted from a watercooled VW. WIndshield is cracked down the midde. Car pulls to the right when stopping so brakes will need aligned. Just a couple very small spots of rust bubbles under the paint. Overall a really cool car that gets tons of attention and is a great daily driver. I've seen Fastbacks in much worse condition sell for 4000+. This is a great car to drive as-is or a really good canvas for a custom restoration. Happy Bidding!

VW builds 250,000th Passat in Chattanooga in just two years
Sun, 26 May 2013It hasn't been without incident or union organizing drive, but the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, TN has built its 250,000 Passat in just a little over two years. The Night Blue Passat TDI with black leather has come just two years and five weeks after the first customer car came off the line on April 18, 2011.
In the last year the plant operated at the 150,000-unit capacity that it was intended for, but the downturn in Passat sales and subsequent worker layoffs mean it will be a challenge to repeat the feat. The plant does have the world's largest solar park, though, and you can't take that away from them.
You'll find the official hand-clapping in the press release below.

$1.4B hedge fund suit against Porsche dismissed
Wed, 19 Mar 2014Investors have canvassed courts in Europe and the US to repeatedly sue Porsche over its failed attempt to take over Volkswagen in 2008 (see here, and here and here), and they have repeatedly failed to win any cases. You can add another big loss to the tally, with Bloomberg reporting that the Stuttgart Regional Court has dismissed a 1.4-billion euro ($1.95B US) lawsuit, the decision explained by the court's assertion that the investors would have lost on their short bets even if Porsche hadn't misled them.
Examining the hedge funds' motives for stock purchases and the bets that VW share prices would fall, judge Carola Wittig said that the funds didn't base their decisions on the key bits of "misinformation," and instead were participating simply in "highly speculative and naked short selling," only to get caught out.
With other cases still pending, the continued streak of victories bodes well for Porsche's courtroom fortunes, since judges will expect new information to consider overturning precedent. If there is any new info, it could come from the potential criminal cases still outstanding against former CEO Wendelin Wiedeking and CFO Holger Härter, who were both indicted on charges of market manipulation.
