Garage Kept, 2007 VW Touareg TDI - VERY rare car! (Taking more pictures tomorrow, email if you need them)

I owned it for 2 years, did all maintenance at VW dealer, which includes oil changes and:
-Thermostat + coolant replaced in 2012
-AC blower fan replaced in 2012

It's been a very reliable car, absolutely no problems with it other than those 2 listed above.

Has an extended warranty valid until 05/2014 or 122,000 miles, whichever comes first, which covers same as manufacturer warranty, provided by route66. Buyer will have to pay a $50 transfer fee to get warranty in their name. You can see what the warranty covers and doesn't cover by googling PenFed route 66 warranty

This is LOW miles for a TDI engine, they are designed to last hundreds of thousands.

This car is LOADED:
-Adjustable Air Suspension
-Locking center AND rear differentials
-4-Zone climate control
-Navigation (Requires DVD from VW)
-Front AND rear heated seats
-Sunroof
-TEAK Leather Interior
-K40 Custom installed Laser and Radar detection system!! ($2000 system, professionally installed) , includes remote control w/bluetooth

Toyota reclaims global sales crown, GM and VW not far behind

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

TheDetroitBureau.com reports Toyota has retaken the global sales crown. The Japanese automaker turned out 9.75 million vehicles last year, putting it just ahead of General Motors, with 9.29 million vehicles. Volkswagen, meanwhile, filled out the podium by building 9.1 million units in 2012.
Still, Toyota numbers fell just below projections the automaker made earlier in the year, due largely to a fierce territorial dispute between Japan and China that has seen mainland buyers shun Japanese goods. But the news marks a substantial comeback for Toyota. The company fell to third place in the global production race in 2011 after tragic earthquake and tsunami caused several plant closures.
In Japan, Toyota enjoyed a sales increase of 35 percent over the previous year, while the company's worldwide sales jumped by 23 percent thanks in part to new additions to the Prius line. The automaker is forecasting yet another increase for 2013, with the company projecting to reach 9.91 million units this year. Neither Volkswagen nor GM have released their own projections just yet.

Audi CVT suit settlement given green light, 64,000 cars covered

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Audi drivers, listen up. If you bought or leased a 2002-06 model-year A4 or A6 with a factory-installed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that failed, you may be entitled to reimbursement under a recently settled class-action lawsuit with corporate parent Volkswagen.
According to Automotive News, the settlement covers about 64,000 vehicles and alleges that "manufacturing and design problems caused the transmissions to fail and left owners stuck with repair costs." While the suit also argues Audi was aware of these issues (going so far as to hide that knowledge from consumers), the settlement stops short of acknowledging any wrongdoing by the German automaker.
Audi drivers are eligible for a cash reimbursement if their CVT repairs occurred within 10 years or 100,000 miles of the date they bought or leased the vehicle before June 19, 2013. To be eligible for compensation, drivers must submit a claim form (found here) with supporting documents by November 18.

Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits

Wed, 15 May 2013

The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.
