2007 Volkswagen Rabbit 2.5 Hatchback 3-door 2.5l on 2040-cars

Year:2007 Mileage:113000
Location:

Ventnor City, New Jersey, United States

Ventnor City, New Jersey, United States

My  2007 VW Rabbit with 2.5L engine and 5-speed manual transmission needs new home. The car has 112xxx mostly highway miles. Inspected through 12/2015.

The car runs great, the engine is silk smooth and the clutch grabs as new. If you like stick shift cars, you’ll love the rabbit. Torquey engine and the gear ratios make driving a pleasure. The car does not have any issues, no warning lights or hidden malfunction codes. AC/heat/radio/windows work fine. Great on gas. All 4 tires and rims have less than 5000 miles, new battery. I did preventive maintenance when the car reached 100k milestone. Had replaced serpentine belt/tensioner, spark plugs, replaced coolant and had flushed cooling system. Fully synthetic oil replaced every 5k miles.

I had other VW and Audi prior this car. None have been so reliable.

The car had badly sagging headliner when I bought it and I installed new headliner. It came out beautifully, but the visors and small stuff need to be installed.  It comes with only one regular key, no remote key available (can be ordered through VW dealer, though).

The car has reconstructed title, as I purchased it on insurance auction listed as recovered theft. Nothing appeared to be damaged. The car is located in Ventnor, NJ. Please text or call 609-431-2039 to see it or test drive. Roof rack not included.

Please make sure you have funds available before bidding! I am not a dealer and can not arrange any kind of financing.

Full payment is due with seven days of auction end. It is sole responsibility of the buyer to remove the vehicle. I can assist as much as I can, can pick you up in Atlantic City International Airport (at no charge to you) or can meet with you in Philadelphia International Airport for added charge, so that you can fly down to Philly and drive away in new car.

Thanks for looking and good luck with bidding!

Audi CVT suit settlement given green light, 64,000 cars covered

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Audi drivers, listen up. If you bought or leased a 2002-06 model-year A4 or A6 with a factory-installed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that failed, you may be entitled to reimbursement under a recently settled class-action lawsuit with corporate parent Volkswagen.
According to Automotive News, the settlement covers about 64,000 vehicles and alleges that "manufacturing and design problems caused the transmissions to fail and left owners stuck with repair costs." While the suit also argues Audi was aware of these issues (going so far as to hide that knowledge from consumers), the settlement stops short of acknowledging any wrongdoing by the German automaker.
Audi drivers are eligible for a cash reimbursement if their CVT repairs occurred within 10 years or 100,000 miles of the date they bought or leased the vehicle before June 19, 2013. To be eligible for compensation, drivers must submit a claim form (found here) with supporting documents by November 18.

VW Golf GTI wrung out by Chris Harris

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

Enthusiasts like nothing more than to crucify modern interpretations of their favorite performance models for failing to live up to some imagined ethos. Even the Volkswagen GTI has suffered its fair share of slings and arrows for growing in size and curb weight. Chris Harris recently spent some time with the all-new MK VII GTI to find out if growing up means giving up on what makes the machine so special.
Judging by his comments, Harris certainly doesn't think so. Yes, the new GTI is considerably more comfortable than its predecessors, but that's hardly a bad thing. The multitude of driving modes actually seem to add depth to the car rather than simply try to force one tool to do many jobs, and Harris even finds the machine's electronic power steering tolerable. As a result, Harris goes so far as to call the Volkswagen GTI "one of the best cars to actually own." How's that for high praise? You can watch the video for yourself by scrolling below.

VW to unveil diesel-electric Twin-Up! in Tokyo

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

We've received multiple reports that Volkswagen will be bringing a diesel-electric concept to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, set to take place later this month. The car, called the Twin-Up!, is based on the Up! city car, with some sources claiming this is a thinly veiled concept that will eventually enter production.
According to Automotive News Europe, the Twin-Up! will reportedly return 214 miles per gallon on the US cycle by combining an 800-cc, two-cylinder diesel and an electric motor. It will also boast plug-in capabilities, and will be able to cover 30 miles on electric power alone.
Autocar has a more complete picture of the Twin-Up!'s powertrain, though, claiming it's a modified version of the hybrid system found in the Volkswagen XL1. The Twin-Up! will get a more potent, 47-horsepower electric motor to the XL1's 27-hp unit, but will retain that car's 47-hp turbodiesel. The battery pack will also grow, from 5.5 kilowatt hours to 8.6 kWh. Both of these increases are necessary due to the increased weight of the Twin-Up! - it's some 900 pounds heavier than an XL1.
