Chesterton, Indiana, United States
1984 VW RABBIT DIESEL MILEAGE 210,592...REBUILT AT 182,000. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM A FORMER PRIVATE OWNER TO USE AS A TOW-A LONG CAR BEHIND AN RV. UNFORTUNATELY, THE RV DEAL FELL THROUGH AND WE DECIDED TO KEEP THE TRAILER THAT WE HAVE SO WE ARE SELLING THE VW. THIS CAR STARTS RIGHT UP AND THE FORMER OWNER USED IT AS HIS PRIMARY CAR. HE SOLD BECAUSE HE WENT INTO BUSINESS FOR HIMSELF AND NEEDED A TRUCK. HE HAD REPLACED THE INTERIOR SO IT IS LIKE NEW. HE DID SAY THAT THE BRAKES NEED SOME WORK. WE ARE SELLING "AS IS" DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE HAVE NOT USED THE CAR PERSONALLY. THE PICTURES WERE TAKEN WITH THE BUMPERS OFF BUT WE DO HAVE THEM AND OF COURSE THEY COME WITH THE CAR. IT IS A VERY NICE VEHICLE. PLEASE EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE PICKED UP IN CHESTERTON, INDIANA 46304...NW INDIANA......WHICH IS ABOUT 50 MILES OUTSIDE OF CHICAGO AND A 20 MINUTE DRIVE TO THE BORDER OF SW MICHIGAN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. THANK YOU FOR VIEWING.

VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.
Volkswagen Golf voted 2013 European Car of the Year
Tue, 05 Mar 2013The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf just went on sale in Europe, but it is already off to a promising start. Announced as the Geneva Motor Show kicked off, the newest Golf was named European Car of the Year for 2013 in dominating style over cars like the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86 twins, Volvo V40, Ford B-Max and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
According to Automotive News Europe, the MkVII Golf won handily over its rivals with a total of 414 votes. The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 received 202 votes finishing in a distant second, while the Volvo V40 (189 votes), Ford B-Max (148 votes) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (138 votes) round out the top five. The new Golf marks the third Volkswagen product to receive the prestigious award with previous cars including the MkIII Golf and the most recent iteration of the Polo.
Car companies may need to start curbing model proliferation
Mon, 17 Nov 2014Looking at the current automotive landscape, especially from German makers, you quickly get the impression that less definitely isn't more. BMW alone offers its 3 Series platform in practically every segment possible, including the regular sedan and 4 Series Gran Coupe, which would seem to be direct competitors. Porsche might be the winner, though, with 20 different variants of the 911 listed for sale on its US website. However, some of this model madness might be reaching an end as companies begin cutting back spending or shifting money to other priorities.
According to Yahoo Finance, the offerings from the German automakers are up 25 percent over the past three years to over 200 models in Europe. The peak is expected to come around 2018 at 230 separate vehicles, according to consulting company PwC.
Amazingly, BMW, which is among the poster children for this model explosion, might be changing its tune. "I'm sure there will be points in the future where we look at certain cars and say, 'Maybe we need to think differently now,'" said head of sales Ian Robertson in an interview, according to Yahoo Finance. The statement certainly sounds shocking coming from a company rumored to have 23 front-wheel-drive vehicles all using a single platform on the way.
