First, if you don’t know allot about the Phaeton here is a link to a thorough review:

www.acarplace.com/reviews/2005/phaeton.html

THIS IS A EXTREMELY RARE, SUPER LOW MILEAGE 2004 aubergine nocturne Volkswagen Phaeton.  I am the proud third owner of this beautiful VW vehicle.  The Phaeton just passed PA emissions and inspection last week.  I planed on trading the Phaeton in on our the new vehicle for our family, but I feel based on the service history, extraordinary low mileage, great condition, color combo rarity, and care put into this vehicle the dealerships offer of $10k trade was quite low and I could do better selling it outright.

How rare you ask?  Well, there is only ONE, YES ONE aubergine nocturne for sale in all of North America with lower miles (51,000).  TOTAL, there are only THREE Phaetons under 60,000 miles for sale in NA, with the lowest asking price at $19k.

It goes without saying that a vehicle with low of mileage rarely comes along.  Better yet, it will easily qualify for a extended warranty.  For instance, when we bought the car a couple years ago we purchased a extended warranty for just over a grand, and it was good for 5 years, or 100 ODO.  This existing warrenty we have may be transferable to the new owner, but we will have to check on that and can't guarantee it will.

That being said, within the last 3,000 miles the following items have been serviced by our local Audi/VW dealers certified Phaeton technician:

  1. Factory wheels have been chromed.  Yes, these are OEM Phaeton wheels that are load support bearing for the extensive weight of this vehicle.  This is the only Phaeton I have ever seen with chrome wheels and it really completes the high end look.
  2. Transmission mechatronics unit was replaced
  3. All transmission fluids flushed
  4. Two rear window regulators replaced
  5. Rear factory door speaker replaced
  6. Oil & air filter changed on schedule
  7. Billet aluminum oil cap (A MUST for changing oil since the factory plastic one can strip!!!)
  8. New brake pads front and rear
  9. New spark plugs
  10. 4 New all Season Michelin Tires
  11. New wiper blades
  12. New HID headlamp Bulbs
  13. Both batteries in the rear replaced with heavy duty AGM batteries
  14. LLumar (very light) window film
  15. All season VW factory Phaeton front floor mats (very hard to find)
  16. All season rear long wheel base floor mats (very hard to find as well)
  17. 70% window film all around
  18. Refrigerator Cool Box upgrade in rear center arm rest (REALLY NEAT FEATURE)!
  19. All CD-roms for the navigation are available, including the compatible 2013 BMW update CD-roms.
  20. Finally, the car has adjustable billet aluminum lowering links from the UK.  The factory arms have been kept as well for the new owner.  Lowers the car 2”-3” for a nice clean look.

To the very best of my knowledge, all electronic features work on this vehicle (i.e. interior lights, buttons, mirrors, etc.).  In addition, there is practically no wear on any surfaces, and even the driver seat looks great (i.e. the love handle rubbing from getting in/out is about 95% non existent).  In full disclosure, the only item that requires attention is the windshield washer squirter since it is not pushing out enough fluid (i.e. loss of pressure in the line somewhere, but the motor sounds strong).  Perhaps the nozzle need replaced or lines checked?  Should be a simple fix for someone handy so I will not attend to it before selling at such a low price due to the hassle.  Otherwise, all she needs is a good home and caring new owner.

Good luck and happy bidding!  Feel free to contact me for a phone number to discuss through ebay too.  I AM NOT DEALER, and tire kickers not appreciated. NO TRADES, again, only selling to do a little better than the dealer trade in offer and get quick cash.  Clear title, but note…the lein has been paid off as of 1-10-14, but it may still show since the title is in process from our financial institution to us.  Please, do not let this become a concern, we will verify the lien is paid in full for interested parties.  All factory VW service receipts dating back to around 2007 included in sale as well. No pets, no smoking, no odors, garage kept.  Exceptionally clean throughout. THANK YOU!!!!

I reserve the right to end the auction early, so if interested, please make me a (reasonable) offer.

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Convertible

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Less Flower, More Power
Pardon our political incorrectness for a moment, but the Volkswagen New Beetle was, undeniably, a "chick car." There was almost nothing that the New Beetle offered to enthusiasts (of either gender), and by the end of its run, VW had even stripped all of the exciting engines from the car's lineup. Looking to resurrect some of the excitement behind the Beetle, the third generation of the iconic car ditched the cuteness when the coupe debuted for 2012, and now the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible aims to show how much fun drivers can have without a top.
Celebrating almost six and a half decades of the Beetle convertible, Volkswagen is offering a trio of distinct special editions that celebrate three of the car's most popular decades (the '50s, '60s and '70s), but as one of the unofficial cars of the 1960s, it would almost be a crime not to test this version, right? Besides, this is also the only special edition to get the turbocharged engine. While our first drive of the 2013 Beetle Convertible was in the fuel-miser TDI variation, our two-week romp in the 2013 Beetle Convertible '60s Edition came just as peak convertible weather was kicking off down in Florida.

Volkswagen Multivan Alltrack Concept takes the luxury van life off road

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Volkswagen dug into its commercial vehicle fleet for its latest Geneva Motor Show concept, blending the versatile body of the T5 MultiVan with a luxuriously appointed interior, 4Motion all-wheel drive and a thrifty diesel powertrain.
That 177-horsepower diesel engine routes its power to the AWD system through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Based on that alone, we'd expect the Multivan Alltrack's behind-the-wheel experience to be somewhat familiar. That all-wheel-drive system and van body contribute to the 21-degree approach and 15-degree departure angles of this soft-roading MultiVan.
What wouldn't be familiar is its exquisite cabin. Volkswagen opted for a nautical theme for the concept's interior, featuring grey-blue leather seats from Poltrona Frau and a floor finished in real wood. The dark wood trim can also be found throughout the interior, running below the windows and on the dash.

EU formally questions French government assistance of Peugeot's finance arm

Fri, 28 Dec 2012

Recently, the finance arm of PSA/Peugeot-Citroën was in such debt trouble that it was pricing itself out of the car loan market. The rates it was paying to service its debt, which was rated one step above junk, were so high that it was forced to charge car-buying customers higher rates than they could find elsewhere. This was adding to Peugeot's already impressive woes by sending revenue out the door to competitors.
Two months ago a deal was worked out with the French government whereby the state would provide 7 billion euro ($9 billion USD) in bonds to guarantee the finance arm's loans. The French government could nominate someone to join the Peugeot board, Peugeot would guarantee more French jobs, and on top of that deal, other banks would provide non-guaranteed loans. The government would take no equity stake in the car company.
Although not yet finalized, the arrangement is meant to create some breathing room for Peugeot Finance to lower its interest rates for customers, and a government-nominated board member, Louis Gallois, was recently named to Peugeot's supervisory board. The arrangement was also openly questioned by at least three competitors: Ford, Renault - which is 15-percent owned by the French government after it received state aid - and the German state of Lower Saxony, itself a 15-percent shareholder in Volkswagen.
