This 2005 TDI wagon needs absolutely no repairs or conditioning and has had oil and filter changes every 10,000 miles using only genuine Total Quartz 504/507 5/30w oil and German made Mann filters. If you are a TDI lover you know what I'm talking about. If not, it just means that with this maintenance these engines easily go 300,000 miles.

The car has 139,998 miles on it.

All of the following maintenance have been serviced recently: New constant velocity joints, rubber boots, front wheel bearings, brake pads, fluid and rotors, alignment, new tension pulley, all new belts, glow plugs, and all new under cowlings, and a new hood liner.

This car has always run perfectly, and has a completely straight body with no dings, no accidents, excellent paint (some rock chips on the hood) with still bright clear coat, good clean upholstery, new full-size spare tire, CD and cassette/FM high fidelity sound. The hazy headlight assembles were replaced new 2 years ago to give the headlights that crystal clear "showroom" glow. Nothing needs to be done to this car. I have always used a MightyVac pump to change the oil and filter from the top without getting dirty and without having to go under the car or remove the cowlings, and I can describe how you can DIY and save lots of money. The only reason I had the cowlings replaced is because the one time I had Jiffy Lube do the job they did not put them back on correctly and they fell off on the highway!!!

We average 34 mpg to and from work, with 42 mpg on trips to the coast (62 mph speed limit) and 38 mpg on summer trips to the Columbia Gorge (70 mph speed limit). We just bought a new SUV diesel and it is time to sell the Passat after enjoying it for the last 80,000 miles. Remember, it's in great condition but it is a used car and has minor blemishes accumulated over the last 139000 miles. Thanks for looking.

Auto execs surveyed say VW, BMW most likely to grow

A new survey of top global automotive executives indicates both Volkswagen and BMW are the most likely to grow their market share over the next five years.
Tax advisory firm KPMG LLP has released its 14th annual Global Automotive Executive Survey, which includes responses from over 200 executives. A total of 81 percent of respondents said they expect to see Volkswagen make gains, compared to 70 percent last year. BMW, meanwhile, saw 70 percent of those surveyed say they believe the company will increase its market share. That's a jump of 7 percentage points over last year. This is the first time in the history of the survey that BMW has claimed the second-place spot.
Meanwhile, Hyundai has seen its perceived market share potential slacken for the third year in a row. Around 61 percent of those surveyed predicted gains for Hyundai, down from 63 in 2012. Toyota also has a surprising year, but for just the opposite reason. While the manufacturer had slipped in ranking since 2011, it enjoyed the largest increase of any company in the 2013 survey, jumping to 68 percent from 44 percent last year.

Porsche-Piech buy 10% stake in VW's holding company

In August, 2009, as the scuttled merger of Porsche and Volkswagen had gone bad and Porsche was backed up against the ropes, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAHSE) relinquished a ten-percent stake in itself to Qatar Holdings as well as options it held on 17 percent of VW shares. The sale meant that, for the first time since the founding of the company 61 years before, an entity outside the Porsche and Piech families had a say in the running of PAHSE.
Buying that ten-percent stake back returns full ownership to the two families, the holding company's sole possession being ownership of 50.7 percent of VW's common shares. The price paid wasn't disclosed, but at market rates the purchase would be worth close to $1.25 billion. Qatar intends to hold onto the 17-percent stake it has in Volkswagen.
