I have had this car since 2011.
It has run beautifully for me since I first purchased it.
Since July of 2013 it has been sitting because I could not afford to get it inspected, so it will probably need a new battery.
The tires need a little air right now, but I've asked someone to help and he said he's bringing a compressor over to fill the tires this week and see if the battery will take a charge. I had to move the car when they were paving the parking lot and one tire was too low to push it, so the spare is on it right now but there is all 4 tires, (just wanted to let you know why it is on in the pics)

Right before I stopped driving it, the exhaust started sounding a little loud, like it has a hole in the pipe.
A new transmission was put in right before I purchased it.

!REGARDING ODOMETER NUMBER: The number I put on here is from the title. It is a little higher now and I will try to access it when we see if the battery can hold a charge, but I didn't drive it too often. There were months at a time were I did not drive it at all, so it should not be a whole lot over what I listed.

The only reason I am getting rid of the car is because I'm unable to work right now and I don't know when or if I will be able to again. Because of that I do not have the money to take care of it and its not benefiting anyone just sitting in my parking lot.
Its a great car and will make its new owner very happy.

THIS CAR HAS BEEN SITTING SO IT'S A LITTLE DUSTY AND A BIT DIRTY ON THE INSIDE- OBVIOUSLY WILL NEED VACUUMED AND A LITTLE TLC.

If you'd like to contact me directly my number is (717)701-0013.
My name is Jenn.

Lamando is Chinese for VW Jetta CC [w/video]

Sun, 31 Aug 2014

Volkswagen is not messing around when it characterizes its new MQB architecture as modular. It's already underpinning the VW Golf, Audi A3, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia, and will soon form the basis for many more. And here is the latest.
Unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show in China this weekend is the new Volkswagen Lamando, a four-door coupe similar in size to a Jetta but with the svelter roofline of the larger Passat-based CC to go after the Mercedes-Benz CLA. It's essentially the production version of the New Midsize Coupe concept that previewed its arrival at the Beijing Motor Show this past April, and will be built locally for local consumption by VW's joint venture with SAIC.
Power comes from either a 1.4- or 2.0-liter turbo four mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with an equivalent price tag below $30,000. Whether this or any similar vehicle ever arrives in North American showrooms remains to be seen, but we'll be watching to find out. In the meantime you can scope it out in the trippy video below and the photos in the gallery above.

VW makes $9.2B offer for rest of truckmaker Scania

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

Volkswagen owns or has controlling interests in three commercial truck operations: besides its own, VW began buying shares in Sweden's Scania in 2000 and now controls 89.2 percent of its shares and 62.6 percent of its capital, then bought into Germany's Man in 2006 - in order to prevent Man from trying to take over Scania - and now owns 75 percent of it. The car company has managed to work out 200 million euros in savings, but believes it can unlock a total of 650 million euros in savings if it takes outright control of Scania and can spread more common parts among the three divisions.
It has proposed a 6.7-billion-euro ($9.2 billion) buyout, but according to a Bloomberg report, Scania's minority investors don't appear inclined to the deal. Although effectively controlled by VW, Scania is an independently-listed Swedish company, and a profitable one at that: in the January-September 2013 period its operating profit was 9.4 percent compared to Man's 0.4 percent. Some of the other shareholders believe that Scania is better off on its own and will not approve the deal, some have asked an auditor to look into the potential conflict of interest between VW and Man, while some are willing to examine the deal and "make an evaluation based on what a long-term owner finds is good," which might not be just "the stock market price plus a few percent." The buyout will only be official assuming VW can reach the 90-percent share threshold that Swedish law mandates for a squeeze-out.
Many of the arguments against boil down to investors believing that Scania's Swedishness and unique offerings are what keep it profitable, and ownership by the German car company will kill that. (Have we heard that somewhere before?) If Volkswagen can buy that additional 0.8-percent share in Scania, perhaps its buyout wrangling with Man will give it an idea of what it's in for: "dozens" of minority investors in the German truckmaker have filed cases against VW, seeking higher prices for their shares. It is likely only to delay the inevitable, though. If VW is really going to compete with Daimler and Volvo in the truck market, it has to get the size, clout and savings to do so.

Carlex Criollo is a Volkswagen Multivan shrine to Alcantara, leather and... fish

Wed, 10 Jul 2013

A keen angler recently went to Polish tuner Carlex Design (the same folks who did that steampunk Mini Countryman a while back) for a revamp of his Volkswagen Multivan. What resulted is perhaps the most striking - yet fishing-unfriendly - interior we've ever seen in a van. Below the shoulder line, if a surface isn't covered in cross-stitched Alcantara, then it's covered in cross-stitched leather. Even the steering wheel airbag boss. And the seat supports. And the cupholders.
The brown hue of the Multivan's interior is called Criollo, named for an especially fine specimen of cocoa. The finishing touch on the overhaul is a fileting knife that Carlex made for the owner. We imagine he'll use the knife for the marine life, but keep his van far away from it.
