Looking for a clean Ghia?

Up for a bid~
My project is a 1974 Karmann Ghia. 5 speeds, 4 cylinders, 2 doors coupe.

The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is a sports car marketed in both 2+2 coupe (1955–1974) and convertible (1957–1974) body styles by Volkswagen. The Karmann Ghia combined the chassis and mechanicals of the Type 1 (Beetle)with styling by Luigi Segre of the Italian carrozzeria Ghia and hand-built bodywork by the German coach-builder Karmann.

Almost everything in this car is new.
Clean California Tile
New original yellow banana color
New interior black and burgundy.
New sound system: a Panasonic CD player with detachable face and also with the total 4 speakers plus 2 10" subwoofers in the back to add a nice base to the sound.  Also behind the sub-woofers, there are 2 amplifiers to enhance and modify the sound when you cruise this little baby around town.
The engine: lot of work has been done to the motor.
New main bearing set
New cam bearing set
New rod bearing set
New piston bearing set
Pressure plate
New R. Dual port head
New camshaft bug flat
New Lifters
Rebuilt rod set
New Oil pump
New VW carburetor replaced
fresh oil
New bosh spark plugs
Transmission serviced and with fresh oil
Fuel pressure test 3.5/4 lbs
New distributor cap
new rotor
new fuel filter
New air cleaner hose
New Ignition coil blue 12V
new gas cap
New clutch
New battery
New front brakes disk.
 New front calipers
New front brakes pads.
New rear brake cylinders .
New rear brake shoes
New brake master cylinder
Chromed 14" wheels with VW covers
All this work was done a little more than a year ego but the was never driven.  It was a project that I have been working little by little.
This beautiful Ghia still have some areas where it needs work. example: the fuel gauge does not work, the door panels paint needs to be taken care because it was not prepared before pai
nting (the painter just sprayed the inside doors)
the engine compartment release cable needs to be replaced. also the hand brake cable and it needs the wipers arms, along some few other accessories....
The bumpers are used and there are not in their best.  There is a front body damage that has to be taken care too. The front bumper felt off and damaged the body
The tires are in great shape and their are good for some good time. There are few other details that will need some work if you need to make this a perfect car but until now the car runs perfect and attracts people when they see it.
Please note that the back seats was removed and a special compartment was made to place anything you want, just lift the black cover and you ll see the compartment ( see pictures)
The car is located in Palm Springs California so the buyer is responsible  to pick it up from there.

Good luck on your bid, Thanks

Volkswagen's De Silva says next Scirocco will be 'completely different'

Tue, 02 Apr 2013

From our perspective, the reborn Volkswagen Scirocco is a handsome (if squat) little thing. Yet design-wise, it's always struck us as uncomfortably close to the Golf three-door hatchback with which it shares its basic underpinnings. That aesthetic kinship may be part of the reason why Volkswagen has steadfastly refused to import the Scirocco to North America, seeing as how the Golf doesn't regularly set the company's sales charts alight, and it's less expensive.
But that visual similarity might be about to change, says Walter De Silva, who recently told Australia's Car Advice that, "It must be completely different... we don't want to repeat the bodystyle of the Scirocco, we want to change that." Further, the Volkswagen Group's design boss says that the next-generation car isn't terribly far along in development yet - "at the moment, it's only a studio [project]... it's not defined." It's probably just as well, as the new seventh-generation Golf arguably borrows some of its design from the current Scirocco anyway.
So we should expect a much bolder, more differentiated design, right? Well, yes, no and maybe. Back in September, De Silva himself was quoted as saying that the era of flamboyant styling has passed, and that future VW designs will be simpler to better reflect the times and preserve resale value. So... how different could it be?

2013 Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

The Golf VI's Last Hurrah Is Pure Niche
This was in the heart of the ultra-chic Côte d'Azur during winter. The car to be tested was the not-for-North America 2013 Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet. Prevailing weather conditions here this time of year are bizarrely pleasant, as though a dome of Swarovski crystal has been placed over the entire region to protect it from any real winter spoiling things. And the zippy Golf R Cabriolet is a sports car designed precisely for this area's preciously narrow winding streets, as well as for the lofty budgets of its property owners.
So then why was it snowing like we were in northern Michigan? The weather front hit from the north like a swift kick to the Jordaches. The roof was open on this Candy White Golf R Cabrio and I, as is my wont, was determined through thick or thin to keep it retracted. It had been raining and sometimes sleeting like the End of Days, but I kept the lid cracked because the 261-horsepower cabrio - the most powerful convertible ever built by Volkswagen - was snipping along nicely as the bad weather blew over my head and wetted only the rear headrests.

Volkswagen Cross Up! headed for production after Geneva reveal

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

The last time we saw the Volkswagen Cross Up!, it was sitting out in the snow in prototype form, but the next time we'll see this slightly more rugged version of the diminutive Up! hatchback will be when it makes its production debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Looking like a micro-crossover with its raised ground clearance and black cladding, the Cross Up! will be the fourth "Cross" model for VW (after the CrossPolo, CrossGolf and CrossTouran) when it goes on sale this summer in mainland Europe (UK sales remain up in the air and US sales are highly unlikely).
Overall, the styling of the production Cross Up! has stayed fairly true to the 2011 concept car, including the front and rear fascias that offer a more rugged look, stocky 16-inch wheels and roof rack side rails. Inside, this model will get unique interior enhancements such as "Cross Up!" sill plates and an instrument panel available in red, black or silver. Like the regular Up!, the Cross Up! is powered by a 74-horsepower, 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission, and it doesn't look like all-wheel drive will be part of the picture. For more details on the upcoming Cross Up!, check out VW's press release posted below.
