This auction is for a fully restored 1963 Karmann Ghia coupe.

The car has been gone over from top to bottom starting with the exterior work on the vehicle:

All body work was repaired, and the vehicle was painted Corvette Torch Red.
The bumpers are brand new, all exterior emblems are new.
All gaskets have been replaced including engine and trunk gaskets, window gaskets, windshield molding, rear window molding.
The floor boards are in excellent shape and are not rotted.
The chassis has new drum brakes all around, new shocks. There is some slight play in steering box.
The interior was completely reupholstered. Only flaw is mark on rear seat cushion.

The engine has been completely rebuilt with:

New crank, pistons, rods, and heads.
New gaskets.
Upgraded to 12v ignition system.
Upgraded dual carburetors.
The transmission has a short throw shifter.

The car is in excellent shape. You really have to see it to appreciate the work that was done. The body work and paint work is excellent. I have receipts for all engine work done as well as receipts for most of the exterior trim, bumpers, etc.

Car is located one mile south of West Point, NY.

Skoda unveils Volkswagen Up!-based Citigo

This is the all-new Skoda Citigo, and if you're thinking that it looks rather familiar, that's because its Volkswagen-badged kin recently debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. That's right, the long-rumored Skoda version of Volkswagen's new Up! city car has finally arrived.
Buyers will have a choice of two 1.0-liter three-cylinder engines - one with 59 horsepower, the other with a 74 hp and a blistering 106 mph top speed - both mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Powerful they are not, but these three-bangers should prove to be extremely efficient, with Skoda quoting fuel economy numbers of 62.8 and 60.1 miles per gallon, respectively (on the European cycle).
Being a Skoda, the Citigo will go on sale in its home market of the Czech Republic this fall, with the rest of Europe getting the car next summer. Follow the jump for Skoda's official release.

Volkswagen Cross Up! headed for production after Geneva reveal

The last time we saw the Volkswagen Cross Up!, it was sitting out in the snow in prototype form, but the next time we'll see this slightly more rugged version of the diminutive Up! hatchback will be when it makes its production debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Looking like a micro-crossover with its raised ground clearance and black cladding, the Cross Up! will be the fourth "Cross" model for VW (after the CrossPolo, CrossGolf and CrossTouran) when it goes on sale this summer in mainland Europe (UK sales remain up in the air and US sales are highly unlikely).
Overall, the styling of the production Cross Up! has stayed fairly true to the 2011 concept car, including the front and rear fascias that offer a more rugged look, stocky 16-inch wheels and roof rack side rails. Inside, this model will get unique interior enhancements such as "Cross Up!" sill plates and an instrument panel available in red, black or silver. Like the regular Up!, the Cross Up! is powered by a 74-horsepower, 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission, and it doesn't look like all-wheel drive will be part of the picture.
