Super clean (Clean CarFax) extremely rare 2010 Jetta TDI Cup Edition finished in Black with VW's signature, limited edition Black cloth plaid interior. Showroom condition inside and out and fully loaded with every single option including the rare and expensive Thunder Bunny body kit, sunroof, rear spoiler and VW all-weather mats. I looked long and hard for the perfect car and located this one in Ohio and drove it back to Miami - incredible gas mileage! Ultra sporty sedan created to bring awareness to VW's diesel race series. There were only 2500 of these made and in only four colors - Black, Blue, Red and White. This car turns heads everywhere I go and has people scratching their heads wondering what it is. It is powered by VW's super smooth 2.0 liter turbo diesel and mated to their fantastic 6 speed DSG automatic transmission. It comes with sporty, handsome, high polished 18" wheels and is complemented by red brake calipers. It also has full sport tuned suspension system and high performance brakes. The interior is just as attractive and the sport seats are finished in the classic VW cloth interlagos plaid pattern. When you sit in these fabulous seats you can reach out and grab the racing inspired leather wrapped steering wheel. Make no mistake, this is a driver's car and is remarkably quick, smooth and agile all while returning upwards of 48MPG! This is a great looking, sporty and refined sedan that flies by fuel stations with up to 550 miles before needing to be refueled. Car is perfect with all receipts, books, keys, records, etc. Still under factory warranty and recently serviced.Good luck....

Prop-driven VW Beetle hopes to land in Bonneville [w/video]
Thu, 10 Jan 2013Sometimes you meet folks who, when they tell you "Hey, I have an idea," your reflex response is to stop what you're doing and tell yourself, "Get ready...." We imagine Mike Niemans is one of those folks, and the idea in question is putting a tank engine on a Type 1 Volkswagen Beetle. Not just any old tank engine - as if there were such a thing when we're talking about putting them in cars - but a 668-cubic-inch, 220-horsepower radial engine built by Continental in 1941 and procured from an M2 tank.
In the image above Nieman is using the tank clutch hub to get the motor set up, but in one of the images below you can see what really belongs back there is: a two-inch, reverse-pitch prop taken from a wind generator. He says there's enough mojo with the propeller action to get the car rolling down the runway like a jet when he gives it gas - and speaking of gas, the engine's been refitted to run on propane.
After a few safety tweaks Nieman's going to take the matte-black Beetle to Bonneville, "put the prop on, let her go and see what happens!" We can't wait to see the video of that. There are two shakedown videos below to get you ready.
2013 Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet
Thu, 07 Mar 2013The Golf VI's Last Hurrah Is Pure Niche
This was in the heart of the ultra-chic Côte d'Azur during winter. The car to be tested was the not-for-North America 2013 Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet. Prevailing weather conditions here this time of year are bizarrely pleasant, as though a dome of Swarovski crystal has been placed over the entire region to protect it from any real winter spoiling things. And the zippy Golf R Cabriolet is a sports car designed precisely for this area's preciously narrow winding streets, as well as for the lofty budgets of its property owners.
So then why was it snowing like we were in northern Michigan? The weather front hit from the north like a swift kick to the Jordaches. The roof was open on this Candy White Golf R Cabrio and I, as is my wont, was determined through thick or thin to keep it retracted. It had been raining and sometimes sleeting like the End of Days, but I kept the lid cracked because the 261-horsepower cabrio - the most powerful convertible ever built by Volkswagen - was snipping along nicely as the bad weather blew over my head and wetted only the rear headrests.
Carlex Criollo is a Volkswagen Multivan shrine to Alcantara, leather and... fish
Wed, 10 Jul 2013A keen angler recently went to Polish tuner Carlex Design (the same folks who did that steampunk Mini Countryman a while back) for a revamp of his Volkswagen Multivan. What resulted is perhaps the most striking - yet fishing-unfriendly - interior we've ever seen in a van. Below the shoulder line, if a surface isn't covered in cross-stitched Alcantara, then it's covered in cross-stitched leather. Even the steering wheel airbag boss. And the seat supports. And the cupholders.
The brown hue of the Multivan's interior is called Criollo, named for an especially fine specimen of cocoa. The finishing touch on the overhaul is a fileting knife that Carlex made for the owner. We imagine he'll use the knife for the marine life, but keep his van far away from it.
