Hi, I am selling my 2003 Volkswagen Jetta TDI with only 149,238 miles and a manual transmission. It has always been maintained and the engine and transmission are in excellent shape. The clutch shifts well and there are no problems in any of the gears. You can tell that the car has always been driven by experienced manual transmission drivers. The turbo sounds great and makes the raspy noise that you want to hear when you are accelerating through the gears. The oil has been changed every 5,000 miles with the proper 503 synthetic grade oil which is recommend by VW for its turbo diesels. The timing belt was replaced at 132k miles and I have the receipt. The turbo was also replaced at 132k miles. Every once in a while a factory turbo fails early on these cars from my research. The great thing about having a brand new turbo is that the performance of the engine is like the day she rolled off the line. I am a pilot and take excellent care of my airplanes and cars.

The seats are black leather and they are in excellent condition with no stains, rips, or tears. It has traction control, heated seats, power windows, power locks, AC that blows cold, a Monsoon CD player, and a Moonroof. The traction control works great when driving in the winter and you will feel a noticeable improvement in handling. It has the fold down rear seat so you can haul things like skis. The rear headrests, slide-out cover for the luggage compartment, spare key, spare tire, tire changing tools, maintenance receipts and the owners manual are also included. The previous recent maintenance receipts include the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, engine air filter, glow plugs and etc. The tires are brand new. I have over $2000 in preventative maintenance receipts for only this past year alone.

On the interstate it handles well. When you take your hands off the wheel at 70 mph there is no pull to the right or the left. The car handles very well and there is a lot of life left in the suspension.

The car has spent most of its life in Colorado and has no rust. The previous owner was an older lady and you can tell that she took care of the car. It has never been smoked in. The paint is in excellent shape as you can see from the pictures and there are only a couple of minor parking dings. Everything works in the car including the air conditioning which blows cold.

It has never been in an accident and has a clean carfax which I can email you.

The 2001-2003 VW Jetta Wagon manual transmission TDI's are the most desirable out of the tdi years because their 1.9 liter engines get the best gas mileage and the cars had excellent rust protection. It is rare to find a VW tdi wagon with this option package (black leather seats, heated seats, and traction control). The 2004-2005 year models had a problem where VW used the wrong grade of oil in the camshafts, so the original camshaft has to be replaced somewhere around 125k miles.

VW builds 250,000th Passat in Chattanooga in just two years

Sun, 26 May 2013

It hasn't been without incident or union organizing drive, but the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, TN has built its 250,000 Passat in just a little over two years. The Night Blue Passat TDI with black leather has come just two years and five weeks after the first customer car came off the line on April 18, 2011.
In the last year the plant operated at the 150,000-unit capacity that it was intended for, but the downturn in Passat sales and subsequent worker layoffs mean it will be a challenge to repeat the feat. The plant does have the world's largest solar park, though, and you can't take that away from them.
You'll find the official hand-clapping in the press release below.

The 911 Of Hot Hatches Takes The Compact Game To New Levels
North American car buyers get a bit of a slap in the face when it comes to delivery schedules for new the Volkswagen Golf and pumped-up GTI models. We'll just repeat the old chestnut: It's worth the wait... even though it still stinks. This time around, Western Europe is taking deliveries of the new Golf as we speak, and GTI deliveries start between May and July. North America doesn't get the Mk7 Golf or GTI until about July of 2014.
So we approached our first drive of the new GTI with this chip on our shoulder: "You're making us wait? Well, then at least give us the exact car we'll be able to buy. No compromises, mein freund." And so it was that we extracted nearly all of our drive impressions from behind the wheel of what, for the United States, will technically be a model year 2015 two-door Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance with the standard six-speed manual.

Volkswagen e-Co-Motion concept poised for delivery to Geneva

Sat, 02 Mar 2013

With Nissan getting ready to launch the e-NV200, it appears Volkswagen is looking to go after the same zero-emission commercial vehicle market with the all-electric 2013 e-Co-Motion Concept. Debuting next week at the Geneva Motor Show, the e-Co-Motion Concept might be small in size, but VW says it has cargo and payload capacities that should be perfect for small businesses.
Measuring 179 inches long, 75 inches wide and 77 inches tall, the e-Co-Motion Concept has about the same footprint as the current Golf, and it has a cargo capacity of 162 cubic feet and a maximum payload of more than 1,700 pounds. There isn't too much information on the e-Co-Motion just yet - such as what electric components and platform are used - but the press release posted below states while the concept is shown as a cargo van, future body styles could include a passenger wagon or a refrigerated box van.
