This is a NO RESERVE auction. It will be sold to the highest bidder!

A great commuter car! 50 miles per gallon. Turbo diesel runs and drives great. .
CAR HAS ACCIDENT DAMAGE See pictures and video. My body shop quoted me $900 to $1,000 to repair using used door and quarter panel. I think he is high(perhaps the paint thinner). It drives perfect. No frame or suspension damage. Air conditioning is ice cold, power windows and moonroof all work. Engine and transmission are great! no noises, no clunks, no smoke,no oil leaks, shifts smooth. Clutch is great, everything works. Factory stereo and added satelite Sirius radio.4 good tires and aluminum wheels. Get in this car and drive anywhere. The interior. Seats are great. Cloth on door panels is falling off, the glove box handle is broken, and the drivers window switch works most of the time. A wiggle of the switch is required once in a while.
You do the math. If you are commuting to work in some slug that gets 15 MPG, you can park it, drive this to work, and cut your fuel consumption by TWO-THIRDS! Like getting a raise! See the damage in the pictures and the video here .   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GPB47h93V0 .
I'm selling the car as-is, shipping is your responsibility. Car is located in Hilton Head South Carolina (29926). If you wish to fly in, I can pick you up at Savannah, Georgia airport, and you can drive it home. Anywhere. Clear title in hand, and payment in full before car leaves. A pay-pal deposit of $500 is required within 72 hours of auction end. Any questions will be prompltly answered.
I am a 14 year veteran of Ebay with a 100% rating. I expect buyers to behave the same way.

VW previews retouched 2014 Touareg for Beijing

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

Volkswagen is in New York this week showing off its new Jetta and Golf TDI SportWagen concept. But in less than a week, the German automaker will be off to China for the Beijing Motor Show, where it will showcase the revised Touareg you see here.
A subtle update on the Touareg that's been on the market in its current form for four years now, the facelifted model features reworked styling front and rear, an updated interior and a host of new technologies to keep it current in the highly competitive SUV market. Among those new features are larger bi-xenon headlights, coasting function, Google Maps integration and a post-collision braking system designed to prevent a second crash.
VW will offer the new Touareg with a variety of engines around the world, but in North America it'll carry over the same six-cylinder powertrain options as the outgoing model: a 3.6-liter V6 with 280 horsepower, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 with 240 hp (though torque isn't listed, we'd expect around 406 pound-feet, same as last year) and a hybrid that marries a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 to an electric motor that combine to deliver 380 hp.

Volkswagen Group names Paefgen head of classics program

Tue, 04 Oct 2011

You may remember the name Franz-Josef Paefgen. Until recently, the German engineer and executive was head of both Bentley and Bugatti. Before that he was chief executive of Audi, after working for several years at Ford. He technically "retired" earlier this year, but like the cars he helped create, an executive like Paefgen could never really retire. So it should come as little surprise that the Volkswagen Group has named Dr. Paefgen head of its Classic program.
In his new capacity, Paefgen will oversee the historic automobile activities of the entire VW Group, including those of Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, and of course Bentley and Bugatti. It strikes us as a suitable semi-retirement for the man responsible in no small part for the Bugatti Veyron and Bentley Mulsanne, to name just two, and who was decorated in 2006 by the ACO as the "Spirit of Le Mans" for his contribution to endurance racing. Volkswagen drops "GTi" lawsuit against Suzuki

Tue, 02 Oct 2012

Way back in 2004, Volkswagen took umbrage with Suzuki being granted permission to use the nameplate "SWIFT GTi" for a performance variant of its small-car offering (2012 equivalent seen here). Now, eight years and surely some very steep legal bills later, VW has finally dropped its claim against Suzuki.
The General Court of the European Union stated, back in March of this year, that Suzuki's GTi registration could not be confused with VW's "Golf GTI." Volkswagen had appealed that ruling, though has now reportedly called off the dogs. In fact, Germany's Die Welt reports that the appeal has been dead for several weeks now.
This news comes amongst continued arbitration acrimony between the two automakers, all revolving around VW's forced divestiture of nearly 20-percent stake it purchased in Suzuki some two years ago.
