Its my clean title 1984 maroon Volkswagen 1.6 Turbo Diesel Jetta, no not the common diesel rabbit, very well maintained. It has 224,xxx original miles and the odometer still works, however the clock doesn't lol. The car is mechanically sound, I bought it off a vw enthusiast fireman last year. The key point of this car is that it's cheap to fill up and gets LITERALLY 43-45 MPG...300+ miles on a full tank. The registration is cheap too and no worries about smog because Diesels past a certain year aren't required to be smogged. its a really cheap and reliable car that comes with a tons of cool stuff...
The Maintenance.
Recently in the past 10,000 miles I redid the front brakes, front wheel bearings, brake booster, clutch, suspension (coilovers), and changed the oil (6/8/13)
The Extras(can be worked into the deal):
I bought a set of the E-Code European headlights from a guy in germany off of vortex. The Fenders are rolled and pulled, but you can't tell because of the fender flares :) I also tucked the front bumpers because I hated the diving board style. Also I have a MK1 GTI front valance in black that I've been meaning to pop back on, but I just don't have the time.
The Reason:
I just got a better job a few weeks ago so I decided to buy another car, particularly an E30. So I have no real use for the Jetta anymore. It'll be sad to let it go, but it's been a great car to me. It's got plenty of character and life left in it.
The Bads:
No rips inside but some of the stitching has come undone in the rear seat headrests but that is it, the interior is in pretty good shape for an 1984 VW
Couple of dings thanks to college parking idiots.
The passenger side window was broken into in such a weird way by crackheads in SF's tenderloins, who also stole a broken radio from it, but left the speakers which still work. They chipped the paint on the door pillar but its okay.
The paint isnt great, its BARELY starting to fade on the hood, but its not noticeable
It has no radio at the moment, But I have another deck for it, just not hooked up.
AC needs recharge
Heres a video you can see the CONDITION OF THE PAINT WHEN ITS NOT WAXED LIKE IT IS IN THE PICTURES ON THE AD and the rear seat unseamed, and in the video it has the STOCK HEADLIGHTS which i can sell the car WITH for a LOWER price. The PAINT LOOKS BETTER IN PERSON lol.

Skoda racing Up! to Worthersee with Citigo Rally concept
Thu, 17 May 2012If you thought the Volkswagen Group was about to wind down the endless stream of concept cars based on the new Up! city car, think again. Because not only is the Volkswagen brand itself keeping the train a-moving, so are its sister brands.
Skoda has its own version of the Up called the Citigo. But what racing fans know the Czech subsidiary for best is its rally program that has become a dominant force in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and the basis for VW's own foray into the World Rally Championship. Now Skoda is bringing the two together with an exciting concept car previewed by the rendering above and confirmed in the press release below.
Following in the footsteps of the tantalizing Fabia roadster unveiled last year, the Citigo Rally concept is to be the centerpiece of the Skoda display at the Volkswagen Group's annual hot-hatch gathering at Lake Wörthersee in Austria. Details are scarce, but the show car will feature rally-inspired bodywork complete with 18-inch white alloys packed into aggressively flared wheel arches, a substantial rear wing and vents aplenty.
Skoda Octavia vRS is just the thing for your pumped-up neighborhood
Fri, 26 Jul 2013Skoda, oh Skoda. You're just so cool. Maybe it's the fact that it's a brand that we don't get in these United States, but Skoda's rebadged Volkswagens, in particular the new Octavia vRS shown here, are just different enough from the hum-drum VWs on our shores that the Czech brand seems strangely desirable. Maybe we're just craving forbidden fruit.
This short, minute-long spot covers the new vRS in a world of excess, where strollers ride on 26-inch wheels, lawnmowers feature V8 engines and ice cream cones are the size of toddlers. As things often go in these ads, the Octavia vRS draws the eyes of passerby that are seemingly use to things far more ridiculous than a reasonably priced Czech sedan. In reality, the Octavia should be fairly familiar to American buyers. It uses the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-pot found in the Volkswagen GTI and Jetta GLI, with 217 horsepower, and sits on the same platform as the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf. Take a look at the full spot, below.
Touring the Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg
Mon, 23 Sep 2013Forgive the ribbon up top - this isn't so much of a Read This as a Look At This. Ran When Parked took a tour of the sprawling Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg, and while there's a spot of text about the different and unique vehicles on display in the rotating exhibits, it's largely the collection of pictures of odd, one-off VW-badged cars and vans that excites. If you're a fan of the weird and wild, this is a post you'll want to look at.
As RWP points out, this is the larger, but less busy, museum targeted purely at Volkswagen products. The smaller AutoStadt museum, meanwhile, covers a much broader swath, with products from other Volkswagen Group members.
