Recently Purchased But Have to Sell for Financial Reasons

She's is a Sweet Ride.

Bought from Original Owner. She got a lot of road miles on her approximately 256560. She has been sitting for several years because owner can no longer drive and had no place to store. 30,000 miles on rebuilt engine in 04' at Lewis Foreign Car Service in Ft Lauderdale

Kasztener Kar Kare in Boca. Also did complete front and rear brakes, fuel pump, fuel line in 2011.

Recently Done:
05/23/2013  at Firestone: New Battery
06/14/2013 at Street and Sand Toys: Point Set,Ingition coil, Spark plugs, Wires, and Condenser
07/05/2013 at Discount Tires: Brand New Hanok Tire 195 75 R14

I have only put new Tires on the other day.  Also installed new antenna and speakers for radio. Had her check out at Sunshine Garage in Sarasota this past Monday.  Francis owner of Sunshine, said "whoever did the rebuild did it right, everything looks good."She's got a small oil leak round front crank seal (typical VW) . Needs Drivers Side CV joint, other than that she is mechanically sound. I have already put 500 miles on her.

However she is over 30 years old and although in excellent shape for her age, she needs some TLC inside and out. Paint is faded but body excellent shape hardly no rust.  There are a few dents as you can see in pictures but nothing major. Passenger side wiper needs replace. Canvas needs replace. Passenger side window regulator needs fix; I have already started repair(need window regulator). Outside sliding door needs new handle. The paneling contact paper is faking off needs to be recovered, (I Have taken most of it off already. Windows are tinted, but tint peeling off (I may try and remove it if I have time).

Refrigerator works on AC power 120. Have not filled propane tank  to check stove or power refrig. on propane, but everything is in excellent condition.

This is an Excellent candidate for restoration or just run her and enjoy.
I Hate to sell her since I waited so long for her unfortunately I have to sell because for financial reasons. I only want to recover what I paid plus tires.

Volkswagen considering a four-door, four-seat XL1

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

According to a report in Autocar, Volkswagen might have more in mind for the XL1 than mining it for advances to grace the next-generation Golf. Aiming to fight the Honda FCEV due for public consumption next year, we're told VW executives have put a four-door, four-seater version of the XL1 - it could be called XL2 - on the drawing board. The impetus is said to come from the top, with VW Group chairman Ferdinand Piëch intent on staying in the deep end of "super-efficent vehicles."
Autocar suspects the necessary changes could raise the weight of the car from 1,749 pounds to 2,068 pounds, which would make it four pounds less than the 2,072-pound Up! we drove a few years ago. Crucially, however, the mag thinks the extra capacity wouldn't change the two-seater's 310-mile-per-gallon rating, with tech tweaks and the aerodynamic benefit of a longer car offsetting the weight. Speculation is that the back seats would be staggered like the fronts in order to maintain the XL1's overall profile.
We recently heard about another XL1 variant that's gone off the radar entirely, the Ducati-engined XLR that we thought we'd see at the Geneva Motor Show and that was said to be going into production, so this one could go the same way. The biggest hurdle to making such an idea a reality, though, could be the price: the current XL1 costs 110,000 euros ($146,116). If VW really is going to compete with the Honda FCEV and the Toyota FCV - $70,000 in Japan - that might be where it wants to start.

VW to unveil diesel-electric Twin-Up! in Tokyo

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

We've received multiple reports that Volkswagen will be bringing a diesel-electric concept to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, set to take place later this month. The car, called the Twin-Up!, is based on the Up! city car, with some sources claiming this is a thinly veiled concept that will eventually enter production.
According to Automotive News Europe, the Twin-Up! will reportedly return 214 miles per gallon on the US cycle by combining an 800-cc, two-cylinder diesel and an electric motor. It will also boast plug-in capabilities, and will be able to cover 30 miles on electric power alone.
Autocar has a more complete picture of the Twin-Up!'s powertrain, though, claiming it's a modified version of the hybrid system found in the Volkswagen XL1. The Twin-Up! will get a more potent, 47-horsepower electric motor to the XL1's 27-hp unit, but will retain that car's 47-hp turbodiesel. The battery pack will also grow, from 5.5 kilowatt hours to 8.6 kWh. Both of these increases are necessary due to the increased weight of the Twin-Up! - it's some 900 pounds heavier than an XL1.

VW Chattanooga plant very close to UAW representation

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

After months of fighting from both sides, it looks like the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, TN, might unionize under the United Auto Workers after all. According to a letter acquired by The Associated Press, VW and the UAW reportedly struck a deal last spring where the union agreed to stop its challenge of the organization vote with the National Labor Relations Board to help clear the way for the CrossBlue to be produced in Tennessee. In exchange, the automaker would recognize the UAW at the plant. Leaders of the Local 42 at the facility reportedly signed the letter.
It seems that such an agreement would clear the way for the factory to unionize after months of dispute. According to The Detroit News, under Tennessee law, workers aren't required to join the organization. Although, that might not be a problem. As of a few months ago, Local 42 already claimed to have signed around 700 of the plant's roughly 1,500 workers.
Controversy has constantly swirled around the possible unionization at the Chattanooga plant. The UAW held its official decision in February and lost 712 to 626. However, there were allegations of intense political pressure to make sure the ballot failed. A later report also found that VW was offered $300 million in incentives well before the vote to make sure things progressed to the "satisfaction of the State of Tennessee," but the deal was later retracted. In July, the UAW opened Local 42 on the campus in hopes of signing up a majority of the workforce by volunteering to be a part of it.
