The condition of the exterior, interior and engine can vary depending on the vehicle's history. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"The driver side mirror is broken. Has some rust. Interior needs cosmetic work. Front seats need to be reupholstered. Has a current Missouri inspection and a clean title. Has 64,500 miles."

The condition of the vehicle is good condition for it being 34 years old. The bus is brown and beige. There is some discoloration of lighter brown with darker brown on parts of the bus. There is some rust, mainly around the windows and in the rear of the vehicle where you lift the hood where the engine is. The front seats need to be re-upholstered but are still stable  for driving and riding in the bus. The middle seat is black because it is a newer seat from a different bus. The drivers side mirror is broken but the vehicle has a current Missouri State inspection. The bus has a new starter and battery and the tires are good, almost new. It also has an after market air filter. The bus runs and drives smoothly, however, it is not built for high speeds. It operates best at around 50-55 MPH and as with many old VW's, this bus needs a break about every hour of interstate driving at those speeds because it has a tendency to not start after the engine has been running at these speeds for more than an hour. When I drive on the interstate I give the bus a break about every hour and it takes about 15 minutes for it to rest and  then starts and is ready to go again. I am not aware of any other issues with this bus and this sell will be as is.

I am not the original owner. I bought the bus in March of this year from a seller on craigslist. I do not know anything about the history of this bus prior to me buying it. I am selling it because I am in the military and found out I will be moving to Hawaii and will not be able to take this vehicle with me.

The buyer will pay though pay pal, cash in person, or a certified cashiers check. The buyer will also be responsible for moving or shipping the vehicle. It may be picked up from my address and either driven away, or towed away, or whatever means the buyer desires.

Audi investing $30.3 billion through 2018 for product expansion

Sun, 29 Dec 2013

How does Audi plan to reach two million units in annual sales and pay for the 11 new models it's adding to its lineup - an expansion that may include models named SQ2, Q9 and F-Tron? By increasing its investment to 22 billion euros ($30.3 billion US) between now and 2018. That figure represents an increase of about 500 million euros over the previously planned outlay, according to a report by Automotive News, and that could be due to Audi wishing to goad the momentum that pushed it to 1.5 million annual sales two years ahead of schedule.
It's also about staving off the challenges from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Now that BMW has been able to turn some of its attention away from its "i" series of Megacity cars, it will reportedly spend more than planned in 2014 as it continues the rollout of ten all-new vehicles and 15 new-generation vehicles through the end of next year. Mercedes, having been dropped to third in the sales race, is preparing to add 13 new cars over the next six years.
Audi's money is going into technology, into product like the next-generation TT and the Q1 and production expansions and upgrades all over the world. The expenditure represents just under a fourth of Volkswagen's 84.2 billion-euro ($115.7 US) outlay devoted to taking the number-one global automaker title away from General Motors and Toyota by 2018.

VW using other manufacturing locations as leverage in battle with TN [w/video]

Sat, 26 Apr 2014

We've reached a new step in the ongoing drama at Volkswagen's factory in Chattanooga, TN. The United Auto Workers recently dropped its opposition to the union vote and agreed that it wouldn't hold another ballot for at least a year. Now, the new question becomes where VW is going to build its forthcoming midsize SUV.
Earlier, it had been considered all but certain that the SUV, likely a production version of the CrossBlue concept (pictured above), would be built in Tennessee. However, it seems the Chattanooga factory might have competition to produce it. In emails obtained by The Detroit News, VW's lawyer wrote to the Tennessee economic development department in January saying, "While we understand there are some 'non-deal' issues that are causing a delay in the TN solution, VW has been successful in reaching agreement on terms at the alternative locations."
As previously reported, the state of Tennessee allegedly offered VW about $300 million in incentives to build the vehicle there and create an estimated 1,350 jobs, but it later rescinded the deal. Newly leaked documents from NewsChannel 5 (WTVF-TV) in Nashville allegedly show just how close that offer was to being completed. It appears that VW actually sent the government the first draft of a memorandum of understanding agreeing to the incentives, but the state removed the offer in late January.

Volkswagen Golf Variant Concept R-Line puts the sport in SportWagen

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

With the introduction of the newest Volkswagen Golf Variant, we get an early look at what will most likely be the next-generation Jetta SportWagen here in the US. To further wet our appetities, VW is now teasing something a little sportier with the Concept R-Line. Looking the part of a GTI wagon (or a stretched Golf R), the Golf Variant Concept R-Line has a production-ready appearance that has us hoping we'll see this sporty wagon sooner rather than later.
The R-Line starts off with a new fascia that isn't quite as aggressive as the recently introduced GTI, but it gives the new styling some extra punch. Below the fascia is a lower splitter that visually carries back into the rocker panel extensions, and the rear of the car gets some bright exhaust tips and a rear diffuser. The Lapis Blue Metallic paint job probably does enough on its own to add a sporty flair to the Golf wagon, and it's all finished off with 18-inch split-spoke wheels. Inside, the Concept R-Line shows off sport seats wrapped in carbon leather featuring blue nappa inserts in the middle.
Rightfully so, VW brought the Concept R-Line to Geneva with its TDI and 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. A sporty, all-wheel-drive diesel wagon? Yes, please. Scroll down for the full press blast with all the details.
