I am selling my 1966 SO42 Tin Top Westfalia , This bus is a walkthrough model.. I would love to keep the Bus but I recently purchased a house that is requiring my attention . To start I went through the braking system replacing all the soft rubber lines , master cylinder , all new wheel cylinders and shoes . The Motor is a single port 1600cc and is in good used condition , Does not leak oil and seems to run well down the road . Miles are unknown. The transmission shifts perfect and smooth . New axle boots were recently installed and well as new fluids in transmission as well as the reduction gears .
The body of the bus surely shows its age , Looks to have been repainted many many years ago .. The roof is nice and faded and there's plenty of patina to go around on this bus , chips ,scratches ,fading etc . Over the years its had a couple floor patches done up front , But over all if your looking for a fun bus to go out in the woods camp , take off road , drive out on the beach this is totally that kinda bus . Its not restored just polished up as is .. But is a bus that you can drive as it is and make a plan to restore someday . But honestly a restored camper will most likely sit in the garage and get looked at and not used .. This bus is just ready to have fun in !!
The front seats have been recovered using Wolfsburg West covers and pads. Door panels are the hardboard grey . Camper kit is all original , but at some point someone recovered the seat cushions ,rear seat folds to a bed ,and table folds down to the wall . It is missing the icebox but in my opinion provides more room inside . Just throw your vintage cooler in that spot and call it a day .
Bus comes complete with the roof rack . Was converted to 12 volt , has H4 headlights which are good and bright . What else can I say other than again look at the pictures . Its not restored but well aged .Looks great to me , I wouldn't change a thing about it . I love the fact that I can drive and not worry about a thing . Yes these buses are becoming to be worth a lot of money restored etc . But at that point there not as fun anymore . All you do is worry about them and hope your collector car insurance is for high enough if something were to happen . This is a driver quality bus that looks pretty good also . Drive and have fun ...

Volkswagen Golf voted 2013 European Car of the Year
Tue, 05 Mar 2013The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf just went on sale in Europe, but it is already off to a promising start. Announced as the Geneva Motor Show kicked off, the newest Golf was named European Car of the Year for 2013 in dominating style over cars like the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86 twins, Volvo V40, Ford B-Max and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
According to Automotive News Europe, the MkVII Golf won handily over its rivals with a total of 414 votes. The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 received 202 votes finishing in a distant second, while the Volvo V40 (189 votes), Ford B-Max (148 votes) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (138 votes) round out the top five. The new Golf marks the third Volkswagen product to receive the prestigious award with previous cars including the MkIII Golf and the most recent iteration of the Polo.
2013 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Convertible
Wed, 10 Apr 2013Less Flower, More Power
Pardon our political incorrectness for a moment, but the Volkswagen New Beetle was, undeniably, a "chick car." There was almost nothing that the New Beetle offered to enthusiasts (of either gender), and by the end of its run, VW had even stripped all of the exciting engines from the car's lineup. Looking to resurrect some of the excitement behind the Beetle, the third generation of the iconic car ditched the cuteness when the coupe debuted for 2012, and now the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible aims to show how much fun drivers can have without a top.
Celebrating almost six and a half decades of the Beetle convertible, Volkswagen is offering a trio of distinct special editions that celebrate three of the car's most popular decades (the '50s, '60s and '70s), but as one of the unofficial cars of the 1960s, it would almost be a crime not to test this version, right? Besides, this is also the only special edition to get the turbocharged engine. While our first drive of the 2013 Beetle Convertible was in the fuel-miser TDI variation, our two-week romp in the 2013 Beetle Convertible '60s Edition came just as peak convertible weather was kicking off down in Florida.
Volkswagen adding R-Line trim to Touareg, Tiguan for 2014
Fri, 11 Jan 2013Volkswagen introduced its aggressive R-Line appearance package on the CC and Beetle last year, but later this year, this treatment will also be applied to VW's crossovers, the Tiguan and Touareg. Both sporty-looking utility vehicles will be unveiled next week at the Detroit Auto Show.
The 2014 Tiguan R-Line comes standard with bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights, and the package adds 19-inch wheels, grey fender extensions, body-color side skirts and a liftgate spoiler. Inside, the R-Line adds a flat-bottom sport steering wheel with paddle shifters, a black headliner and numerous metallic trim accents such as the stainless scuff plates, the aluminum pedals and metallic finish on the instrument and door panels. The Tiguan R-Line will be offered in front- and all-wheel drive configurations.
As for the 2014 Touareg R-Line (shown above), this model gets an ever more distinctive look with an aggressive front fascia, 20-inch wheels and dual oval-shaped exhaust outlets in addition to the painted side skirts and LED taillights. Similar metallic interior trim pieces found inside the Tiguan R-Line will also make their way into the Touareg as well as gloss black accents on the instrument panel and center stack.
