1962 Volkswagon, Double Cab With Single Cab Front Clip on 2040-cars
Royse City, Texas, United States
Due to heath reasons I'm reluctantly selling this 1962 Volkswagon Double Cab pickup. 98 percent of all the rust repair has been professionally finished and media blasted to the bare metal. The rockers, floors, jack points, doglegs and cross members have all been replaced and ground flush to the body. Also the rear wheel arches have been finished as well. So to say this bus is solid is an understatement. The lower nose has had some repair but the vehicle comes with a complete repair section. This section is part of the single cab front clip that is included in this auction. The transmission and engine are included in the deal also. The engine rotates freely but it's condition is unknown. It has had front spindles flipped and rebuilt to lower the truck. On the rear the swing axle has been updated to an I.R.S. rear end from a super beetle to correct any camber issues. The pedestal and all seats are included as well as the front and rear bumpers. The rear decklid is also included as well as all interior accessories like the spedo and gas gauge are included. I reserve the right to end this auction early due to It being advertised on various sites local and nationally.

Volkswagen Golf voted 2013 European Car of the Year
Tue, 05 Mar 2013The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf just went on sale in Europe, but it is already off to a promising start. Announced as the Geneva Motor Show kicked off, the newest Golf was named European Car of the Year for 2013 in dominating style over cars like the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86 twins, Volvo V40, Ford B-Max and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
According to Automotive News Europe, the MkVII Golf won handily over its rivals with a total of 414 votes. The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 received 202 votes finishing in a distant second, while the Volvo V40 (189 votes), Ford B-Max (148 votes) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (138 votes) round out the top five. The new Golf marks the third Volkswagen product to receive the prestigious award with previous cars including the MkIII Golf and the most recent iteration of the Polo.
Volkswagen formally introduces super-efficient XL1
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Lightweight and low drag are hallmarks of great sportscar design. But when paired with a super-efficient, hybrid powertrain, you have the Volkswagen's XL1 that has been formally introduced in Geneva today.
When the 1,700-lb, carbon-fiber-bodied two-seater hits the road, its claimed 261 miles per gallon will make it the world's most-fuel-efficient production car. Though "production car" might be a stretch since VW said in a February press release that the XL1 would be built using "handcrafting-like production methods." We translate that to mean you won't be seeing many of these cars on the road. Though no one at VW has mentioned pricing yet, early rumors suggested a six-figure price tag.
That's supercar budget for a vehicle that has a 47-horsepower, two-cylinder diesel engine and a 27hp electric motor. With numbers like that, owners can expect 0-62 mph times of 12.7 seconds and top speed near 100 mph.
Volkswagen Golf Wagon leaked ahead of official unveiling
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Wagons ho! These three images of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf Wagon have leaked online ahead of the car's official debut, which may very well be at the Geneva Motor Show. Looking over the photos doesn't really bring any surprises - after all, this is a VW Golf with a wagon rear end grafted on, or basically what we expect next Jetta SportWagen will be.
We can only share these three images at this time, but fret not, folks. There's little doubt that all the details and images will be flowing from Volkswagen in short order. In the meantime, click on the images above to view them in high resolution.
