1959 original m coded German fire truck, very rare factory built bus. This bus is complete with all hoses, old fire extinguisher, sirens, and even an original German fire helmet.  It has never been repainted, it is all original Fire Engine Red paint. All in all for the east coast a good straight solid bus.  Has the typical driver side rocker rust and few spots here and there.  Floors are exceptional to have never been replaced with only minimal rust.  1600dp with dual carbs starts right up but the carbs need to be gone through and a good tune up.  What I believe to be original to the bus 36 horse motor is included with it but condition unknown.  It wouldn't take much to make this a daily driver as is.  Brakes need to be gone through, new tires were put on 2 years ago. I take it around the neighborhood every now and then, and really cool to hit the sirens at the neighbors. Original air box plate and original apron included. Title is clear. VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC

Sat, 22 Jun 2013

Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.

CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over

After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.

Volkswagen and Funny or Die take humorous spin in 2015 Golf

Wed, 10 Sep 2014

Volkswagen is partnering with Target and Funny or Die in a bizarre ad for the latest Golf starring comedian Rob Huebel, probably best known for his work on Childrens Hospital on Adult Swim.
The commercial is titled The Way Too Helpful Neighbor and stars Huebel as the eponymous neighbor. The challenge is for Huebel to help improve his buddy's apartment before the guy meets his girlfriend's parents for the first time. The obvious way to do that is to slide a new Golf through an actual Target in Texas, while simultaneously showcasing the store's goods and the car's features.
The commercial is airing online now and on TBS during breaks in Conan O'Brien's show, with sneak peaks during other programs on the network. Auto advertising is becoming pretty normal for Funny or Die at this point, though, with the site previously partnering with Fiat for several videos. Check out the ad above and see if you think it works. Scroll down for VW's announcement.
