First of all, I would like to say that my experience buying vehicles on Ebay has been fraught with overly optimistic sellers willing to say anything to sell their vehicles. My last experience involved the word "AWESOME" with several exclamation points in the listing. I should have known better. I assume the seller was blind because he failed to mention several defects. One of which being that the car leaked like a macrame diaphragm. That being said, if anything, I will understate the quality of the car.
I know very little about Volkswagens, and I am selling this car for a friend of mine that appears to know even less than me. When I ask him specifics questions about the car, he is typically staring into space with his finger in his nose. So here it goes, this particular Volkswagen has had a least one repaint. I would call the quality average. There is some over spray on the dashboard. That speaks volumes in itself. There are several chips and scratches in the paints. There is also a touch of surface rust around hinges and handles. I don't know how serious it is but it appears to be minor. There are also several small dents in the car. Rubber bumper guards both front and rear appear to be pulling free of the bumpers. Driver's side seat is loose. I believe it is missing a bolt. Door panels are coming unwrapped and the dashboard has a crack in it. The convertible top is in good condition. The interior of the convertible top, which is white, has several scuff marks on it. I don't know if these will clean up or not. I couldn't access the trunk. When I asked about gaining access, my friend told me that he didn't recall ever needing to get into it. Seriously?
My friend believes the mileage to be accurate. It shows just shy of 95K. He told me that the car has always been reliable and has been serviced regularly. I didn't get to drive the car because the battery was dead. At the very least, the car needs a battery. I was never able to get the car on a lift so I can't speak to the condition of the undercarriage and the overall condition of the exhaust system. The tires and rims are in good condition and the chrome on the car is fair. It has minor pitting that is still very presentable. The glass is in good condition. Overall, this car is in good condition. I have tried to give a very honest appraisal of this car. Please call me with any questions in regards to this car and I will get you an honest answer. My name is Beckett and my number is 970-596-6286.

UAW angered over VW workers getting right to defend anti-union vote
Thu, 13 Mar 2014The United Auto Workers have called a decision by the National Labor Relations Board allowing anti-UAW employees at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga the right to defend voting down unionization at the plant "an outrage."
You'll recall that the union was defeated by a vote of 712 to 626 in a contentious February election. The UAW claims the outcome was unfairly swayed by pro-business, anti-union forces, including Senator Bob Corker and political advocate Grover Norquist.
This new decision by the NLRB essentially gives workers backed by the anti-UAW National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation and Southern Momentum a formal voice in the impending hearing on the UAW's appeal of the vote.
Volkswagen Passat gets Wolfsburg Edition, priced from $23,495*
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Volkswagen has just announced a new Passat Wolfsburg Edition, which slots between the base S and mid-grade SE trims in terms of content and price. The automaker has not released any official photos of the car as of this writing (aside from the badge shot you see here, of course), but the Wolfsburg Passat will be visually set apart from the rest by a unique set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
The big host of upgrades for the Wolfsburg Edition are found inside, where buyers will enjoy standard amenities like leatherette seats (with bun-warmers on the front chairs), a power driver's seat, satellite radio and a media interface with iPod connectivity. Of course, this comes on top of the already standard Passat features like Bluetooth and auto on/off headlamps. The Wolfsburg Passat will only be available with the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Look for the 2013 Wolfsburg Edition Passat to hit dealerships in the very near future, priced from $23,495, *not including $795 for destination. Have a look below for Volkswagen's official press blast.
Volkswagen Cross Up! aimed at rugged lifestyle folks, complete with plastic cladding
Wed, 06 Mar 2013If you thought there was nothing wrong with the Volkswagen Up! that a little body cladding wouldn't fix, you're in luck. VW has officially pulled the wraps off the production version of the Cross Up!, and its wheel arches and rocker panels are full of the black plastic cladding you've been yearning for.
In addition to the "particularly rugged design and tough, lifestyle qualities" that the cladding exudes, VeeDub has also seen fit to put its Cross Up! on a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels clad in 185/50-series tires. Inside, there are new kick plates to go along with a dash pad that can be had in red, black or silver.
All that cladding must equal additional off-road readiness, right? Well, sure... just so long as you're fine with the same 75-horsepower three-cylinder engine that all other Up! models also feature, along with a five-speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels, again, just like all other Up! models. The Cross Up! appears to have a taller ride height than other models, but we haven't been able to find out what - if any - changes have been made.
