Hello, I am selling my custom beetle due to a new purchase I have made and will not be using it like it should be used. I have 100% positive feedback and plan to keep it that way. Please message me if you plan on bidding and have 0 experience with Ebay. I do require a 500$ non-refundable deposit through paypal within 24 hours of auction ending ... I will not be in town the 12th through the 21st of July so after auction ends we have till that Wednesday for you to come get it or I will have it in garage until I get back ... I bought this from a friend with the intent to take it to car shows and use it on the weekends but I have bought another vehicle and will not have time to use this and want to pass it on to someone who enjoy it ... OKAY ... This is a 1974 beetle body ... fenders are early 60's and also the hood is early 60's (and is rare and has emblem on it) it also has early model bumpers which are also rare ... It has fresh paint done in 2012 ... which as you can see from the pictures is awesome candy blue with black and reverse ghost flames (3,500 in paint) it has 1,500$ in powder coating ... It has very very rare saw blade wheels worth over 1000$ they are powdercoated black .. bumpers were rattler canned and have some paint coming off as you can see in pictures ... they were not professionally painted with the rest of the car ... the glass is in pertfect condition ... it has new carpet ... new weather stripping ... it has air ride suspension on the front that is set up super easy ... stays on 90psi for best ride but air can be let out and set on the ground at car shows then there is a 12v socket to plug in the air compresser and it airs right back up ... great riding car with the air suspension ... OK this car was a 3 speed autostick from the factory basically an automatic ... When the previous owner had the whole car restored he had it converted to a 3 speed with a clutch ... very easy to operate and very unique .. the way it idols I dont even use 1st gear unless on a steep hill ... you can use 2nd gear 0-40mph and then just switch to 3rd from 40-80mph ... yes i said 80 because I drove this car on interstate every once in a while ... steering is a little shaky but it can be driven easily on interstate if needed ... OK the engine is 1915cc and it was COMPLETELY rebuilt ... along with the transmission ... 3,000 miles on the engine and trans ... as you can see from the pictures it is very very clean ... It has a very rare dellorto carb on it worth 600$ ... carb could use a slight adjustment but I and the previous owner have driven it for over a year with it just how it is ... interior is nice but seats could use a recovering ... the previous owner had a short in a wire which burned a hole in the back seat ( this was before he had the car restored) when the car was still unrestored from 3 owners ago ... it has two batteries under the seat one for the car and one for the stereo ... the car has been completely rewired ... the stereo system on the car is absolutely amazing and cost a good chunk of money ... works great !! ... the dellorto carb # is R5219 ... The rear hatch to the engine compartment has a special bracket which allows it to sit away from the body and get more air to the engine ... when opening it you can see where it rubs on the bumper and took the paint off and where it touches the paint took the paint off ... I will have to take the winner on a ride and show them everything due to my insurance will not cover any other driver but me ... then when we get back from the ride and im paid its all yours ... I will not ship the car ... If you want to send a shipping company with full payment that fine but remember 500$ deposit due within 24 hours of end of auction ... any other questions just message me ... I think i covered everything ... Thanks for looking ... the previous owner has over 11,000 invested in the car ... it has a clear signed tennessee title ready to hand over ... All in all its an awesome custom beetle and it an eye catcher anywhere it goes ... I have a low reserve and it should get to the reserve very fast ... another thing ... the professional paint is very nice .. took pictures of the small inperfections ... it has heat and air but not cold air ... gas gauge works .. signals work .. healights and tail lights work .. Good luck bidding ... 500$ deposit due within 24 hours .. if you cant come get it before I leave on vacation I will have the car in a garage until I get back and you can get it right when i get back ... Dont let this car get away ... This is a great custom beetle for a fraction of what it costs to build it ... shouldnt sell for anything less than 8,000 but I do have my reserve lower than that ... the rest of the payment is due in CASH minus the deposit ... Thanks again good luck bidding

Skoda Octavia vRS is just the thing for your pumped-up neighborhood

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

Skoda, oh Skoda. You're just so cool. Maybe it's the fact that it's a brand that we don't get in these United States, but Skoda's rebadged Volkswagens, in particular the new Octavia vRS shown here, are just different enough from the hum-drum VWs on our shores that the Czech brand seems strangely desirable. Maybe we're just craving forbidden fruit.
This short, minute-long spot covers the new vRS in a world of excess, where strollers ride on 26-inch wheels, lawnmowers feature V8 engines and ice cream cones are the size of toddlers. As things often go in these ads, the Octavia vRS draws the eyes of passerby that are seemingly use to things far more ridiculous than a reasonably priced Czech sedan. In reality, the Octavia should be fairly familiar to American buyers. It uses the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-pot found in the Volkswagen GTI and Jetta GLI, with 217 horsepower, and sits on the same platform as the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf. Take a look at the full spot, below.

Volkswagen debuts MkVII-based diesel Golf GTD

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As Volkswagen prepares for the launch of the seventh-generation Golf, it continues to show off some of the car's different variants. With the standard Golf and the ultra-efficient BlueMotion Concept out of the way, now we're finally starting to see some of the sportier versions planned for the hatchback. Confirmed for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen has now given us our first glimpse at the Golf GTD.
Just think of the GTD as a diesel version of the GTI with all the handling and styling upgrades, and then add a torquey engine to the equation. (We had the chance to sample the current GTD over the summer, so click here to read more.) To go with the new body style, VW also gave the GTD a new TDI engine consisting of a similar turbocharged and direct-injected 2.0-liter inline-four layout but with an output of 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque - that's an increase of 14 hp and 22 lb-ft over the current GTD. That's a pretty good oomph, but the GTD won't be setting any acceleration records with VW quoting a 0-62 mile per hour time of 7.5 seconds thanks to the car's 3,036-pound curb weight.
The styling of the MkVII Golf lends itself quite well to the more aggressive body kit found on the GTD (and likely matching the GTI). The new front fascia and blacked-out grille give the GTD a sporty look up front, while 17-inch sport wheels, rocker panel extensions and smoked LED taillights finish off the visual changes. The GTD will only be offered in three exterior colors: Tornado Red, Black and Pure White. As expected, the interior gets the plaid seat inserts and flat-bottomed sport steering wheel, but the car also gets stainless steel pedals, a black headliner, ambient cabin lighting and a specific gauge cluster readout.

VW Super Bowl teaser with Jimmy Cliff is like a less-mean Tosh.0 Web Redemption

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Reggae super-duper-star and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff has been using music to send positive vibes out into the universe for decades now, so its no surprise that his message on behalf of Volkswagen is one of redemption.
Dubbed Sunny Side, this web-spot is VW's warmup of sorts for what promises to be another blockbuster year in the world of Super Bowl commercials. Without giving away the game, the euphonious commercial sees Cliff opening his arms and his heart to some YouTube 'celebrities' that might see courser treatment from the likes of Tosh.0, for instance. We can't help but be reminded of Coca-Cola's legendary 1971 Hilltop spot with the "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" lyric, too.
Enjoy the pre-Super Bowl VW spot below, and don't forget to pay it forward... your karma will thank you. For those of you that just can't get enough of commercial-making magic, we've included a "making-of" video, as well.
