1966 VW beetle in an army/ military theme. Paint is olive drab green about 6 months old. Dash and door jambs were painted same color. Numbers and stars are decals and can be removed if desired. Interior is not new but looks new! Carpet in good shape.1600 single port engine. Runs and drives. May need some fine tuning. Engine bay, engine components and tin was restored recently. Engine itself was not rebuilt but runs very strong. All lights are working; parking, headlights, turn signals, brake lights. Horn not working. Radio not connected and not sure if it works. Windshield wipers not working but mechanism is there. Very solid pan. Small rust hole in battery tray that has been patched. Rear apron was replaced at some point. Rear decklid does not lock/ latch ( maybe aftermarket decklid?) but lines up to body very well. Aftermarket front fenders and hood. Some new weatherstripping and all original glass except front windshield. Glass does have scratches and tried to take pics of them. VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!1966 body on 1967 pan. This is a common practice!! Pink slip registered to 1967 pan as body does not have vin plate. I have the pinkslip. $661 to transfer ( I was not aware til dmv call) and register vehicle and didn't transfer to my name since I bought it as a project, restored it and planed to sell from the beginning. This car is being sold to help fund a church project "Freedom for Our Future" at the Rock world and outreach center in San Bernardino, Ca. So if you win the bidding please pay up, as this car sold and buyer did not pay here on eBay. Took many many detailed pictures click on pics to view all of them. Buyer responsible for transport. Vehicle has to be towed/trailered as it cannot be driven because it's not registered. Included in the sale of this AWESOME VW is the matching vintage radio flyer wagon pictured with the car. VW Golf Sportsvan succeeds Golf Plus in Frankfurt

Just ahead of this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has announced the world premiere of its Golf Sportsvan, a near-production concept that succeeds its Golf Plus. VW describes this compact family car as "one of the most versatile vehicles of the compact class," noting that it offers a mix of hatchback and minivan features in a sporty package.
That sportiness comes from the Sportsvan's styling (perhaps more sleek wagon than minivan) and performance features it shares with the Golf GTI - including the XDS+ electronic differential lock, which is integrated into the Electronic Stability Control system to improve agility. At the same time, the Sportsvan's six engine options, which include a turbodiesel, are up to 19-percent more fuel-efficient than their predecessors.
VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC
Sat, 22 Jun 2013Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
Volkswagen debuts MkVII-based diesel Golf GTD
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As Volkswagen prepares for the launch of the seventh-generation Golf, it continues to show off some of the car's different variants. With the standard Golf and the ultra-efficient BlueMotion Concept out of the way, now we're finally starting to see some of the sportier versions planned for the hatchback. Confirmed for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen has now given us our first glimpse at the Golf GTD.
Just think of the GTD as a diesel version of the GTI with all the handling and styling upgrades, and then add a torquey engine to the equation. (We had the chance to sample the current GTD over the summer, so click here to read more.) To go with the new body style, VW also gave the GTD a new TDI engine consisting of a similar turbocharged and direct-injected 2.0-liter inline-four layout but with an output of 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque - that's an increase of 14 hp and 22 lb-ft over the current GTD. That's a pretty good oomph, but the GTD won't be setting any acceleration records with VW quoting a 0-62 mile per hour time of 7.5 seconds thanks to the car's 3,036-pound curb weight.
The styling of the MkVII Golf lends itself quite well to the more aggressive body kit found on the GTD (and likely matching the GTI). The new front fascia and blacked-out grille give the GTD a sporty look up front, while 17-inch sport wheels, rocker panel extensions and smoked LED taillights finish off the visual changes. The GTD will only be offered in three exterior colors: Tornado Red, Black and Pure White. As expected, the interior gets the plaid seat inserts and flat-bottomed sport steering wheel, but the car also gets stainless steel pedals, a black headliner, ambient cabin lighting and a specific gauge cluster readout.
