This is truly an amazing find.  This is one of our customers cars.  1963 VW Beetle and he and his wife are the original owners. We have the original paper work including bill of sale and window sticker and all service records.  The only thing not original looking on the car is the black wall tires. This car was purchased in California and then they moved to North Carolina in the seventies. It has always been garaged from day 1.  There is not a single spec of rust anywhere.  The owner had the car freshened up in the eighties to include seals, paint, gaskets, engine tune, etc. The only thing not working on the car is the original radio and the fuel level gauge. This thing is amazing! We would like only serious buyers on this car contacting us for more information.  I can put you in touch with the original owner if you call me at the shop. Ask for Carmine at 336.993.5506. One of the pictures listed is the car when it was brand new in 1963.  One of the girls in the picture is the daughter of the owner who brings her MINI Cooper to our shop for service! The documentation on this car is insane.  If you are looking for an original owner hard to find bug this is it! Give us a call if interested. We can also assist with shipping the vehicle if needed.  The owner is moving out of state August 30th so he will not have a garage for the car.  We could keep it in the shop for a short period once the car is paid for if needed but would rather have the car picked up shortly after it is paid for. This car DOES NOT HAVE the typical aftermarket CRAP! that most bug owners install and make it look terrible as do most of the bugs listed on eBay right now.  IT IS ORIGINAL and for sale by the original owner.  The title is clear and in the owners name and hand.

VW makes $23K on every Porsche sold, more than Bentley or Lamborghini

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

It's a good time to be in the luxury car business. In Volkswagen Group's financial report for the 2013 fiscal year, it is revealed that that Porsche enjoyed an operating margin of 18 percent. That means the Stuttgart brand made on average about $23,200 per car sold, according to BusinessWeek. Bentley wasn't far behind, and Audi (which was combined with Lamborghini) posted a 10.1 percent margin. This compares to only around 2.9 percent for the Volkswagen brand.
"Luxury brands are on fire," said Dave Sullivan, an industry analyst at AutoPacific. He said that the average profit margin is between six and eight percent. Brands like Porsche and Bentley have the benefit of competing in rarefied markets. Buyers looking at one their vehicles have fewer models to shop against and don't care as much about price. They can also charge more for options, which further boosts income, according to BusinessWeek.
In a way, we should be more impressed by the continued success from Audi. Its models generally have direct competitors in every segment from the other premium automakers. Plus, their buyers aren't the captains of industry who are shopping for a Bentley. Still, the Four Rings is leading rivals in sales so far this year.

Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe is a green fun-machine we want to drive

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Think back to January's Detroit Auto Show. Those of you that are fans of the Volkswagen brand, impressed with green technology or simply fall into the "diesel geek" category, will almost certainly remember VW's CrossBlue concept with its diesel/electric hybrid powertrain, seating for seven, and somewhat awkward crossover styling. It was an impressive piece of future tech, to be sure, though it left something to be desired in the, well, desirability department.
Here in Shanghai, VW has brought along a CrossBlue Coupe concept that would seem to include most of the goodness of the original, but flavored with more sport and style this time around.
The CrossBlue Coupe makes use of the same electric drive components as the larger three-row concept: two electric motors (front and rear) powered by a 9.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. However, where the original concept made use of a TDI four-cylinder, the Coupe substitutes a 295-horsepower, direct-injection, gasoline-burning V6.

VW Super Bowl teaser with Jimmy Cliff is like a less-mean Tosh.0 Web Redemption

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Reggae super-duper-star and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff has been using music to send positive vibes out into the universe for decades now, so its no surprise that his message on behalf of Volkswagen is one of redemption.
Dubbed Sunny Side, this web-spot is VW's warmup of sorts for what promises to be another blockbuster year in the world of Super Bowl commercials. Without giving away the game, the euphonious commercial sees Cliff opening his arms and his heart to some YouTube 'celebrities' that might see courser treatment from the likes of Tosh.0, for instance. We can't help but be reminded of Coca-Cola's legendary 1971 Hilltop spot with the "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" lyric, too.
Enjoy the pre-Super Bowl VW spot below, and don't forget to pay it forward... your karma will thank you. For those of you that just can't get enough of commercial-making magic, we've included a "making-of" video, as well.
