You are bidding on a completely restored, frame off, no expense spared, nut and bolt restoration of a 1971 Triumph TR6.  Finished in Old English White over the correct Matador Red “ambla” interior, matching the VIN plate with paint code 19 and trim code 12 (see photo) and exactly as it appears on the official British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate that is also available.

This particular TR6 was the recipient of a 100 point Concours restoration many years ago.  It remains today in essentially the same condition as it did when the restoration was completed and probably still one of, if not the nicest TR6’s in the Country.  It is also the first and one of only 3 TR6’s ever invited to participate in the Ameila Island Concours d'Elegance event (www.ameliaconcours.org) (see photos).

The car has actually never been registered for street use and has only been trailered to and from the more than 100 events it has participated in the last years.  The only mileage on the car (approximately 200) has come from being driven on and off it's custom enclosed trailer and from short “exercise” runs to insure it remains in perfect running condition.

The exterior of the car (paint, chrome and glass) are in show condition.  It comes with all of the original weather equipment (black convertible top, white tonneau cover and red convertible top boot).  The top itself is even a factory NOS top sourced at the time of the restoration.  This speaks to the no expense spared restoration the car received.  All weather equipment is still in “as new” condition.

The interior of the car (seats, cockpit, carpet, door panels and dash) are also in exceptional condition.

Mechanically the car runs and drives flawlessly with everything working exactly as it should.  All mechanical components were either rebuilt or replaced at the time of the restoration.  The car could continue to be "shown" as it has been since the restoration or used as a daily driver immediately.  The choice is yours.

All 5 chrome wire wheels are in nice condition while riding on original Michelin sized 185R/15 Redline tires.

Included as well are all of the documentation associated with the restoration, owners manual, workshop manual, Heritage Certificate, Amelia Island Concours invitation letter and even an original copy of the  “Auto Restorers” magazine where the complete restoration was documented.

I have photos of every square inch of the car (engine compartment, underbody, trunk, under dash, tonneau cover, boot cover, etc.), so if there are specific things you would like to get a better look at please do not hesitate to ask.

Please ask all questions prior to bidding and do not bid unless you intend to buy. Vehicle is being sold as is where is with no warranties either expressed or implied. A $2,000 non-refundable purchase deposit is due within 2 days of the close of the auction.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
