This charming Triumph was purchased from the wife of the original owner.  I had left a note 18 months prior and was pleasantly surprised to hear back on an otherwise drab day.  I invited my friend to a fabulous pizza parlor and we then checked out the car at sundown.  It was stored on blocks and had a nifty snug top keeping out the elements.  This will have been my 7th TR-6 and it is much nicer than any of the previous ones. It started easily after spoon feeding it petrol down the carburetors.  Right now it does not idle and hopefully that will be an easy fix as well.  There is fuel arriving at the strombergs however it appears to not be enough to keep the old girl going.  The brakes pumped up and I was told this car was running just fine around Christmas last year.  The original Redline spare is in the trunk and there is a box of knick knacks as well. The hood release appears to have released itself from its mounting spot. The stereo has been removed and the wires are neatly organized under the dash.  The passenger's side fender had a bit of filler and appears to have been repaired as there is some cracking on the finish.   The ignition switch requires the key to be jiggled before it operates.  I'm thinking the floor boards were painted and the carpets had been replaced.  They are just too clean to be original.  This is a gorgeous TR-6 in a handsome color.  The finish line is close for this one.  Prices are soaring on this model.  I have more details so please ask questions and I look forward to them.  Cheerio

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
