1970 Triumph Spitfire MK3 Mark III. As you can see from the pictures, this Spitfire is either for parts or for the adventurous restorer. I have a CLEAR PA TITLE THAT IS IN MY NAME! So a little history, I bought the vehicle back in 2009, before that it had sat in a dry garage in New Jersey, and as far as the previous owner knew, it had not been moved since the early 80's. I didn't have anywhere to store it so it ended up outside (unfortunately) and was covered (and uncovered) many times by the elements and myself. The trunk has a hole (maybe 4" by 4") in it and the front floors are in bad shape, but the frame seems to be in good shape (I will jack it up for you if you come and see it in person). Expect typical Spitfire rust (about 3" hole) on the driver's rear quarter panel in front of the wheel and rust on the rockers right behind the front wheels.

This is a fairly rare Paint Code 56 (Royal Blue) car; I only say that because it took me a while to find a Spitfire that was not Red or Yellow.

I am able to turn the engine by hand and the car itself is for the most part complete. The transmission is there as well but I can't attest for the condition of either.

The front bumper and rear bumpers are straight, but will need rechroming. The windshield is there and in good shape. both seats and door skins are there and so are the seat frames and convertible top frame. One of the front bumperettes is dinged up. Bonnet is in good shape but the boot is worse. The convertible top frame is there, but the top is shredded.

There is no intake or carb; but the 1970 used the single Stromberg, this should not be a problem finding.

I have a fiberglass hardtop available that can be added to the deal; this would be an extra item that could be negotiated at the time of purchase. Pictures available upon request.

I have a tow dolly and can possibly transport, but this would be at a negotiated extra cost buyer must be within 100 miles of zip 18078. Please be ready to pay the balance due on the car within 7 days of the auction close. Acceptable payments include Cash in Person and Bank/Certified Checks. Please, no money orders or personal checks.

Thanks for bidding and good luck!

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
