For sale by private owner is a 2001 Toyota Tundra RWD 8Ft bed with
153,000 miles. This is a one owner vehicle, I purchased this truck new
in 2001.
-3.4 liter V6 w/190 horsepower and 220 torques, automatic transmission. If you know Toyotas, you know this engine is extremely robust and reliable. -5,000lb towing capacity. -White with beige cloth interior. -This Tundra has been meticulously maintained with premium fluids. Synthetic oil and filter every 5k miles. For reliability of components, this truck has had two timing belts replaced, and multiple transmission/differential/coolant flushes. Spark plugs, spark plug wires, exhaust, mass air flow sensors, & catalytic converters have all been replaced. -The Firestone Destination tires are new with less than 5k miles on them. -Thousands of dollars have been invested over 12 years in this vehicle's maintenance; it needs nothing. Everything works! ALL RECORDS AVAILABLE. -Cloth bench seat with integrated arm rest, behind seat storage, upgraded Pioneer speakers, AM/FM radio, tow hitch w/ pin connector, air conditioning (blows cold). Locks and windows are manual which means there is less to break! Plastic bedliner, bed caps, front "bug" guard & mudguards. Tinted windows. Safety features include dual airbags, electronic brake force distribution, and anti-lock brakes. Disclosures: There are a few small hail dents in the hood (see picture). 130,000 Toyota Tundra pickups recalled over airbag issue
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Toyota is announcing a recall for about 130,000 examples of the 2014 Tundra Tundra pickup in Crew-Max Cab and Double Cab configurations.
According to the company, the "garnish on the center pillars" inside the trucks might not have been installed correctly. If the vehicle were in an accident, the side curtain airbags could deploy in the wrong shape. Toyota says that it's not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this potential problem.
To fix the issue, the pickups will have their interior center pillars inspected, and if faulty, the pieces will be replaced. Obviously, this will be done at no cost to owners. Scroll down to read the full announcement.
Toyota Matrix not long for this world?
Thu, 18 Apr 2013According to a report from AutoGuide, Toyota doesn't have plans to replace the aging Matrix hatchback in the United States after this year. If true, the timing coincides with the replacement for the Corolla, on which the Matrix is based, with that car slated to get its first complete redesign since 2006 (2008 in the US market).
We'd love to tell you how many Matrix models were sold by Toyota in the United States last year, but the automaker chooses to bundle Matrix sales with Corolla sales, so we have no idea. That said, we have to assume sales of the hatchback don't contribute much overall to the total number of Corolla-based machines.
We're also unsure if Toyota will choose to exit the youth-oriented compact hatchback market entirely, or if the automaker will rely instead on its hybrid Prius line and Scion models like the xB and xD.
Scion FR-S Convertible (in Toyota GT86 form) spied in South Africa
Fri, 15 Feb 2013Though the eventual existence of a convertible version of the Toyota GT86 (and its Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ versions for America) is a no-brainer, we've yet to get a glimpse of the real-deal car until now.
Spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, of all places, this completely undisguised GT86 convertible seems to be in a remarkably advanced state of development. The image seen here was obviously sniped from quite a distance and without the aid of a powerful lens, but we can still make out a production-ready looking piece of rear bodywork for the convertible top to hide away in, as well as a functioning trunk lid. It's hard to make out with any certainty, based on this evidence, but there does seem to be space retained behind the front seats for two, small rear chairs.
With the first car spotted, we'd expect to seem some more and better images of it flow through in the near future, and if not, Toyota has already confirmed a concept version for next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed FT-86 Open, so stay tuned.
