1989 Toyota Supra Base Hatchback 2-door 3.0l - 7mge Motor - Targa Top No Reserve on 2040-cars
Jeffersonville, Indiana, United States
Hello,
I am selling a 1989 Toyota Supra at No Reserve. I have listed the details to the best of our knowledge below. Again, this is a no reserve auction. The highest bidder is the winner and will be responsible for payment and pick up within 3 days. My son purchase this vehicle about 6 months ago to fix up. This will make a great vehicle to perform some interior repairs, go over the motor, and paint. The body is very straight without any dents. Minor surface rust at bottom of hatch window and right rear fender. Won't be hardly any out there like it. We just don't have the time or money to do it between school and work. Feel free to ask questions. The pictures do make the paint look better as it was just washed and wet. Paint is faded and clear coat is peeling. Vehicle has clear title and will need towed to its new home. Thank you! 1989 Toyota Supra 7MGE 3.0 Motor Manual Transmission 197,063 Miles Rare Vehicle The Good: Should not take much to get it running Does not leak fluid Headliner in good condition No dents or missing body parts Pioneer CD Player Rare vehicle Other than stereo car is original Power Steering works Clock works Gauges work Flip up headlights work Fog lights work Horn works Power side mirrors work Drivers lumbar works Turn signals work Brake lights work Heat works Power windows work Removable sport roof Back seat in good condition Wipers work Emergency brake works Drivers side power seat works Cruise control Tires in good condition The Bad: Has Not Ran In 6 Months and when running it seemed like it needs work Clear coat is peeling and paint fading Not sure if a/c works Front seats are worn Carpet stained Crack in dash Needs towed to new home Good luck and happy bidding!!! |

Toyota pondering high-performance GT86 hybrid?
Fri, 08 Mar 2013From what Autocar has to say, Toyota has even more plans for the GT86 beyond the convertible concept we just saw at the Geneva Motor Show. Along with a planned midcycle facelift, Toyota is reportedly looking at how to pack some extra ponies under the coupe's hood, and while there has already been a lot of talk about superchargers and turbochargers, it sounds like a performance-boosting hybrid system could also be in the works.
Talking to Toyota chief engineer Tetsuya Tada, Autocar has learned that the automaker is considering an electrical motor assist for the sporty coupe to improve performance without harming fuel economy. In attempting to keep weight - and, presumably, costs - down, the article mentions the use of a system closer to what Honda uses for its Integrated Motor Assist rather than a full Hybrid Synergy Drive system used in current Toyota hybrids. Tada says the added weight of the system could be offset by weight reduction, while aerodynamic changes and a lower center of gravity could improve the car's handling.
No word yet on whether a mild hybrid system would find its way to North America's Scion FR-S - let alone its Subaru BRZ twin - but the thought is certainly an intriguing one.
Toyota gives dealers permission to drop Scion, shows them FR-S droptop, Juke rival first
Mon, 19 Aug 2013We recently heard that Toyota could be looking to shrink its network of Scion dealerships, and now Automotive News is reporting that the automaker has officially given its dealers the green light to dump Scion without any penalties. Currently, Scion has about 1,000 dealers, yet our report from August 8 quotes an industry analyst as suggesting a healthier figure would be between 350 and 500 outlets. But before its current dealers make a decision on whether or not to get rid of the youth-oriented brand, Toyota also showed off a couple potential future products in the pipeline.
The FT-86 Open Concept shown above was revealed back in March at the Geneva Motor Show, and AN says that an FR-S convertible was driven on stage at a recent national Toyota dealer meeting in Atlanta. There has still been no definitive word one way or another as to whether the droptop model will be built, but it could be a good way to follow up to the popular FR-S coupe. Another possible future product is a subcompact crossover, which was shown in drawing form at the meeting, presumably aimed at small CUVs like the Nissan Juke and the upcoming Honda CUV based on the Fit, a model recently previewed by the automaker's Urban SUV concept.
TMG's super Lexus LS Sports 650 gets track tested
Thu, 05 Sep 2013The people at Toyota Motorsport GmbH have been responsible for the Japanese automaker's motorsports efforts since the 1970s, but since Toyota pulled out of Formula One after the 2009 season, the tuning shop has been developing a super sedan based on the Lexus LS called the Sports 650. Details on TMG's first road car have been scarce, but XCAR was recently invited to drive the 641-horsepower Lexus on track.
Here's what we know: the Sports 650 has enough power to sprint to 60 miles per hour in under four seconds, tops out at 199 mph, weighs over two tons and utilizes LFA brakes. Oh, and its twin-turbo V8 bellows like an AMG V8. That last part isn't surprising when considering TMG could become Toyota's in-house tuning arm - like AMG is to Mercedes-Benz. As for the bespoke body kit, fender flares and stacked exhaust pipes? They fit the car well and even remind us a bit of Lexus' other high-performance sedan, the IS F. Currently there are no plans for the Sports 650 to be made into a production car, but we doubt TMG is devoting this much effort developing the LS into a road-rocket for nothing.
Check out XCAR's video below to see the AMG-fighter wrung out on track, and then ponder what could be if TMG were let loose to fiddle with other cars in Lexus' lineup. Now that's something we could get used to!
