Temecula, California, United States
Hello you guys. I am selling my 1981 Toyota Supra MK1. RESTORED CONDITION. Only 99,786 original miles. No RUST!! California / Nevada vehicle it's whole life. Always in dry environment. Just passed strict California Smog check ( that inspection will be passed along to winning bidder ), Supra is currently registered with no issues. I do have many of the receipts that will be sent along to the winning bidder. Engine also rebuilt with recently tested compression check numbers at: #1= 180 psi / #2= 180 psi / #3= 183 psi / #4= 180 psi / # 5= 180 psi / #6= 180 psi. Perfect compression. Engine will last a long time. The pictures pretty much speak for themselves. A.C. is running very cold. I just installed a new fan clutch. All fluids clean. The Supra is ready to drive cross country if you wish. It needs nothing. Everywhere I take this Toyota it gets a lot of attention. Folks seem to like the restoration and love the older model Supra's from that time period. Below is some more info. Please email if you want more pics or have questions. Full disclosure with nothing to hide. I will post your questions so that everyone can gather the information. This model year makes it the last of the three year production (1979-81). Features include: Automatic transmission, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, AM/FM Stereo/Cassette with original graphic equalizer, Power Steering, 4-Wheel Disc Brakes, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Sunroof, 14" Aluminum wheels. It has a clean California title. Runs and drives great. All lights, power windows, radio, clock, etc work as they should. Sunroof is manual and opens/closes with ease. I have numerous manuals ( body and engine ) that will be sent along to the winning bidder. The Supra is very beautiful, runs great, wonderful color combo ( Black and Burgundy inside and out ) and a classic Toyota sports car. Good luck bidding and again, let me know if you have any questions. GLOBALVU3NN3.

Shuttle-hauling Tundra finds permanent home in science exhibit
Mon, 03 Jun 2013The idea of lifting a full-size pickup truck completely off the ground by hand might seem as likely as, say, said pickup truck towing a 150,000-pound space shuttle, but... hurray, physics! The same Toyota Tundra that towed the Space Shuttle Endeavour to its final resting place at the California Science Center is now on permanent display there as an exhibit that shows how a lever works.
Like all levers, this exhibit uses a fulcrum allowing people other than Superman to lift the 5,625-pound pickup (plus an extra 1,000 pounds for the rig). That's almost as impressive as the Tundra pulling 17 times its rated towing capacity back in October. Regardless, Toyota is once again cashing in on the publicity stunt and visitors to the science center get a live demonstration of a simple machine - we call that a win-win.
Toyota announces GT86 CS-R3 rally car
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Toyota Motorsport GmbH has developed cars for all manner of racing, up to and including Formula One and Le Mans. But it got its start back in 1979 in rally competition, winning four drivers' and three manufacturers' titles in the World Rally Championship. And now it's announced a new rally car.
Based on the Toyota GT86 (better known to us as the Scion FR-S), the CS-R3 rally car isn't built to contest the top tier of the WRC, but is being developed to conform to the lower R3 class. That means a six-speed sequential gearbox, limited slip differential and upgraded engine, brakes, aero... the works. It'll retain the road-going model's rear-drive setup, joining the front-drive Yaris R1A in TMG's portfolio of customer rally cars.
Further details are set to be revealed "in the coming months", but the GT86 CS-R3 will benefit from the experience TMG accrued in developing the GT86 CS-V3 (pictured above) for the Nürburgring-based VLN endurance racing series.
Scion xB death sentence uncertain, minor updates announced
Mon, 10 Dec 2012The last time we discussed the Scion xB and xD, in April of this year, it was to announce a report that both models were being killed. The vice president of the brand had said, "We don't have plans for a direct xB or xD replacement," but no date was given for the termination. Turns out rumors of their deaths have been greatly exaggerated: as part of a Toyota press release that summarized feature and pricing changes for 2013, the Scion xB was included.
The 2013 hatchback (above) gets a new front bumper and lower fascia with LED lighting, and the rear end gets a black diffuser. Stingray Metallic and Elusive Blue Metallic exterior hues will disappear, Absolutely Red and Nautical Blue Metallic will take their places. Inside will be light bronze metallic and chrome accents, as well as new seat fabric and the availability of the BeSpoke Premium Audio. It increases in price by $500, the manual costing $16,800, the automatic $17,750.
The xD (inset) has been left off the list and the Scion website it still hawking the 2012 car. But 2013 xD pricing and new features were announced earlier this year, the MSRP rising by $125 to $16,500. New equipment and options includes smoked headlight covers, more airbags and a two-tone paint job.
