2009 Toyota Matrix S - 1 Owner, Clean Title, Low Miles on 2040-cars

Year:2009 Mileage:60000 Color: of the car is in excellent driver condition with a few unnoticeable beauty marks accumulated throughout the last
Location:

Santa Monica, California, United States

I am the original owner of this beautiful and clean black on black 2009 Matrix S. I purchased the car from the Toyota dealership and have put 60,000 gentle local commuter miles on the car (well below average). The car has a clean current title and is currently registered in California.

The exterior of the car is in excellent driver condition with a few unnoticeable beauty marks accumulated throughout the last 5 years from daily driving and city parking (see pictures). The interior of the car is spotless and in absolute mint condition. The seats, carpets, headliner are all perfect. And of course, it's never been smoked in and has never been used to transport pets. Truly, I have babied this car and it shows.

The car drives wonderfully, has newer tires (2014), and all service is up to date, including the 60,000 mile service (with receipts). It's a really zippy car, faster than a Fiat 500, handles as well as a Mini Cooper S, and being Japanese, it is as reliable as a Honda Fit or Civic. The car gets great gas mileage, like a Toyota Corolla, and has a lot of cargo space inside, more than Volkswagen Golf!

The car has the following options included in the Sports Package:

- Aerodynamic front, side and real spoilers
- Alloy wheels and high performance all season tires, sport tuned suspension
- Automatic transmission, tilt wheel, telescopic wheel
- Power steering, locks, brakes, windows, mirrors
- Keyless entry, anti-theft system
- Air conditioning, rear defogger, rear window wiper, daytime running lights
- Passenger + driver airbags, front side impact airbags, head/curtain airbags, 4 wheel antilock disc brakes
- Cloth bucket seats
- 5- disc CD changer, AM/FM, auxiliary audio input, 120v power outlet, Bluetooth enabled

I'm moving to the east coast and no longer have a use for this car, which is why I'm selling it.

This is a local auction only and the car will not be shipped.  As it is also for sale locally, I have the right to end this auction at any time.

I'm available during the day to show the car in Santa Monica, feel free to reach out.

The private party sale Blue Book value of the car is $11,534. The local dealers are asking more than $12,000 for the same car.  I've set a very realistic reserve way below these prices.

Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Scion FR-S [w/video]

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Toyota has been hosting its Pro/Celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix on Long Beach since 1977. The charity event, which has raised millions of dollars over the years, traditionally pits Hollywood celebrities against professional athletes (including race car drivers) on the full Grand Prix course in modified street vehicles. The short, sprint-style race is popular with the crowds as the amateur drivers race uninhibited - the result is an action-packed race with plenty of excitement and automotive... er... carnage.
Over the decades, the drivers have raced a variety of Toyota products including last year's front-wheel-drive Scion tC. But this year, Toyota announced at the Chicago Auto Show that the new rear-wheel-drive Scion FR-S would be stepping up to the plate. The good news only became better when Toyota Motorsports invited us out to Southern California's Willow Springs Raceway (the same circuit where the drivers train and practice) to be one of the first behind the wheel.

Rod Millen to face Monster Tajima in Electric Division of Pikes Peak Hill Climb

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The 91st running of the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb is scheduled to begin on June 30. Like last year's event, the 12.42 mile course - fully paved these days - starts at 9,390 feet elevation and doesn't stop climbing until it reaches an impressive 14,110 feet (the air is so thin up there that the FAA requires pilots to use oxygen at that altitude).
There will be an assortment of internal combustion machines racing to the summit, entries from France, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Sweden, Brazil, Canada, Great Britain, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Belgium, but all eyes will be on the electric showdown between Rod Millen and Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima, from Japan. 61-year-old Millen is a familiar name to Toyota racing fans, and he will be driving the Toyota TMG EV P002 (it won the Electric title last year), while Tajima will be again piloting the Monster Sport E-Runner (which was forced out of the field last year after a fire broke out).
Other entrants include Rhys Millen driving a 2013 Hyundai PM58OT and Paul Dallenbach, who will be driving Millen's Hyundai Genesis Coupe (it set the all-time speed mark last year).

Toyota renews Supra trademark, we renew frothing at the mouth

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

Enthusiasts have been begging for a new Supra practically since Toyota stopped selling its fourth generation in the US way back in 1998. We've been hearing rumors about a successor for years, but the Toyota FT-1 Concept from the 2014 Detroit Auto Show is the first tangible sign from the automaker that a new generation may be on the table. To temp us even more, the Japanese company reportedly filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office last week to renew its 2010 trademark for the name "Supra."
Granted, these kinds of trademark updates aren't uncommon, as automakers don't want to lose their rights to nameplates (even if they have no immediate plans to use them). However, Toyota briefly abandoned its rights to the Supra name entirely. According to The Motor Report, the original trademark was continually renewed until 2006, but the Japanese automaker let it lapse in the US until applying for it again in 2010.
The FT-1 Concept in Detroit was created at Toyota's Calty Design Research center in California and carries cues from the 2000GT, Celica and Supra in an ultra-curvy body. Officials did not disclose anything about its powertrain. Toyota is also co-developing a future sports car platform with BMW that will underpin models from both companies, but few other details are konwn, and it isn't yet clear that the joint venture has anything to do with a future Supra. Hope springs eternal.
