Complete 1988 Toyota MR2 AW11 4AGE manual transmission project car with custom paint and tons of accessories. Car was built and customized for my daughter who is now off at college and no longer interested in project. Turns over but cannot be run due to cylinder head problem - busted oil pick-up tube in sump lead to head failure. Local Toyota shop quoted $1,200 - $1,500 to get it running again. Car was a daily driver until about a year ago and was very reliable and fun to drive, not to mention mid-30's gas mileage. This car comes complete with thousands of dollars in spare and rare parts including a complete second motor and transmission, rare body and interior plastics, other upgrades and lots of duplicate parts such as exhaust, sunroof, spoilers etc. Car has a working underbody light kit. This car could easily be parted out for well over $8,000 but I do not have the time or space to undertake that project.

Photos are from when the vehicle was running. Since engine failure, the car has been garage kept and is now dusty and in the way. Will provide more photos of specific views upon request.

Buyer must agree to take entire package - car, spare motor and tranny, spare parts etc. DO NOT ASK ME TO SELL INDIVIDUAL PARTS. This is a package or no deal. If all you need is a motor, then buy the whole project from me and part the rest out yourself. You will make thousands on the deal in the long run.

Included in deal is a complete professional shop manual for the AW11 4AGE platform.

Call 352-219-3110 to make an appointment to see the vehicle and all available parts. Serious inquiries only. I will be happy to answer any and all questions completely and honestly.

Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey

    Wed, 05 Feb 2014

According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.

2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 3

    Thu, 27 Jun 2013

The third practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is done. While the other classes got running time on the middle and top sections of the course, qualifying times were set on the bottom section of the course for the Open, Open Wheel, Electric, Exhibition and Vintage classes.
Everyone managed to keep it on the black stuff today, Greg Tracy setting the fastest time ahead of Hiroshi Masuoka, both men driving the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution II four-wheel-drive prototype. Not even half a second behind Masuoka came Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima in his Monster Sport E-Runner, who has taken about 18 seconds off his time since the first practice day. Rod Millen was the fourth fastest on the day in his Toyota TMG EV POO2.
Topping the Open Wheel class was Clint Vahsholtz, followed by Donner Billingsley, Andy Figueroa and Rodney O'Maley. The only driver in that class not to be given a time today was Dan Novembre. Kenshiro Gushi took the Exhibition class today as his Lexus IS F CCS-R made it up the mountain in 4:27.248, followed by Sage Marie in the Honda CR-Z at 5:19.591. Simon Pagenaud and his Honda Odyssey weren't classified.
