Hello and thank you viewing this auction. This is my first Mr2 so those of you in the know please feel free to educate me on the facts about this awesome Mr2. no warranty, no guaranty. you are buying this Mr2 "as is".

one issue; I just registered the title so it will be 4 weeks until I can overnight it to the winner of the auction. the title is clear no liens or anything like that.

this car has been a one owner car until I bought it a few days ago and he has 2 other vehicles that's how it has such low miles, it has been garaged its whole life, it has no modifications/completely original and is as the 1st owner bought it off the showroom floor. it has never been stunted or raced. never driven in the snow, it has spent its whole life in eastern Washington. the only rust I've been able to find is a small area on the battery hold down bracket.

the seat "covers" are nearly as old as the car so the seats upholstery is in excellent condition the rest of the interior is in pretty good shape also.

original stereo and speakers, still sounds really good.

original sunroof interior cover. I drove the car home in a downpour - not a drop from sunroof seal.

nearly new battery

nearly new tires. original small spare.

it does have a original rear window visor which has multiple paint specks or something "etched" into it.

no known major issues, it still feels tight when accelerating and turning. I started once releasing the clutch too quickly and too little throttle and the engine still didn't hesitate or knock.

as listed earlier this Mr2 does have normal wear and tear. rock chips in the paint, one noticeable rock chip in the windshield, a couple of parking lot dings like a door edge or shopping cart would inflict, the front air dam under the bumper has wear area across most of its bottom edge and has quite a few rock chip spots. I am trying to be very descriptive but please note these are all minor/normal wear and tear issues my intention is that you are able to able to make the most informed decision possible about this Mr2. a really good detailer could fine tune the chips and dings easily, I'm pretty sure this car has never been detailed, it hasn't really needed it. when I pull up to the Toyota owners club meeting the car gets plenty of adulation.

the "original" paint job overall is in pretty good shape, not noticeably faded "thanks to it garage life" but does have normal scratches from cleaning and the above mentioned minor chips and dings and scratches.

the parking brake holds well and feels "tight/fresh".

please feel free to ask questions and offer factoids.

as mentioned no warranty, no guaranty. sold as is, where is.

here's thought; if any of you "actual bidders" are serious about the miles, let me know, I'll stop driving it. it is such a head turner :)

Toyota struggling in Latin American market, attempting recovery

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

With uncertainty in the US and Chinese markets, automakers are scrambling to rev up their efforts in what were traditionally secondary markets. Take Toyota's efforts in Latin America. A recent story from The Wall Street Journal highlights the Japanese brand's push in the southern hemisphere, particularly in Brazil, where it has expanded its operations and installed new executives with a greater range of powers, all in a bid to grab a bigger slice of the ever-growing South American pie.
South America is dominated by General Motors, Fiat and Volkswagen, which maintain a combined 60 percent of the market share - Toyota holds a mere 4.5 percent. The WSJ spoke with Steve St. Angelo, Toyota's boss in Latin America, who said, "We are playing catch up, but we're catching up fast. We now have the resources to give the region the attention it really needs and deserves."
That attention includes an all-new, locally produced small car called the Etios. As bewildering as it seems, Toyota wasn't competing in the low-cost economy car market in South America. With the Etios, which arrived in September of 2012, its sales in the first seven months of 2013 are up 75 percent.

Reprising The Recipe For A Perfect Slice Of Toast
My toaster broke the other week. Halfway through the process of cooking my gourmet Pop-Tart breakfast, the thing crapped out with a small bang, leaving my delicious morning treats trapped inside. To rectify the situation, I ventured out to a big box store, located the toaster aisle, and ran a couple of questions through my mind. Do I need two slots or four? Do I need to spend more than 20 bucks on this thing? Should I just buy a toaster oven to give me a wider range of bachelor-pad cooking functionality? After no more than two minutes of contemplation, I grabbed the cheapest one on the shelf, paid and left the store. The new toaster works just fine.
This sort of unemotional shopping experience is how I suspect people decide to purchase the Toyota Corolla. It's a perfectly fine appliance, and to a good number of people in the world, the bond between a car and a driver is no more important than the connection I feel to my toaster. Does it seat four people relatively comfortably? Does it get decent fuel economy? Is it easy to drive? Reliable? Safe? The Corolla checks all of these boxes, and because of that, Toyota managed to move just under 300,000 examples of the tenth-generation car in 2012 (though that number does include sales of the Corolla-based, now-deceased Matrix) - a vehicle that, at the time, was already six years old.

Toyota passes BMW as most valuable car brand

Tue, 21 May 2013

An annual market study of the strongest brands across various industries has seen Toyota leapfrog BMW as the world's most valuable automotive brand. Toyota's 2013 brand value rose to $24.5 billion, up 12 percent versus 2012 numbers according to market research company Millward Brown's BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands list. BMW's value fell slightly; down by 2 percent to a total of $24 billion.
Mercedes-Benz finished in third place in the automotive category, up 11 percent from 2012 for a valuation of $18 billion. Honda ($12.4 billion, down 2 percent) and Nissan ($10.2 billion, up 3 percent) rounded out the top five for the category. Volkswagen was the only other auto brand that finished in the top 100 overall, in 100th place. Audi made the greatest percentage gain over 2012, up 18 percent to $5.5 billion, but finished outside of the top 100.
Technology companies dominated the overall list, with Apple, Google and IBM ranking one through three. Couture brand Prada was 2013's biggest gainer, rising by 63 percent over 2012.
