I bought this Land Cruiser about 4 years ago with hopes to lift it and make a huge off roader. Reality is, it has mostly sat in the garage I don't see throwing a lot of suspension parts at it when it is so nice stock, so I decided to sell it. It has 147k miles  with stock lockers, and runs perfectly. The only mechanical thing that is wrong with it is the cable inside the antenna is broken( as are most 4 runners and land cruisers) other than that every single button, switch, everything works perfectly. After I purchased it I installed double plat. plugs, high grade plug wires, new distributor cap and rotor, air filter, etc. It has fresh full syn. oil and fram syn. 10k mile gold filter. I have high end parts(Australian comp. ceramic brake pads for front, denso(oe) ignition coil, etc.) that it doesn't need yet that come with it. Every single square inch of this vehicle has been gone through and is mechanically perfect. I even tried to service the e lockers and they were perfect no new gaskets or anything( as you guys know these elocks are precise and dependable but very expensive to repair if not maintained properly). I meticulously maintain all of our vehicles(Toyotas) with top quality o.e. or higher grade parts. The exterior is in good shape with no known dents or dings, some scratches mostly on the hood(most are rubs that will buff out), the only thing I would consider not normal wear and tear on a 16 year old vehicle is the scrapes that have been touched up on the drivers side front quarter panel under the 40th emblem, and the small area centered above the windshield where the paint is bubbled a little, I was told it was a scrape that was touched up without using the correct primer( about $100 or less at body shop with sand, prime, paint). Other than that the paint is very glossy and deep. The interior is beautiful, the drivers seat shows a little wear but no tears or rips, way better shape than most ive seen, the rest of the int. is flawless. The paint code is Antique Sage Pearl 1B2 which was only offered in 97 and only for the 40th ann. This Land Cruiser literally has every single option Toyota offered, including the Toyota 2000 alarm with glass break sensors,e lockers, 40th ann., paint code, climate control, etc. The truck has been professionally cleaned inside and out, and I tried to fix every little thing I could think of before sell.  I truly hate to sell this vehicle especially since it has driven flawlessly since I purchased it. It has nice yokohama geolander tires. I also have the leather bound 40th ann. owners manual, a stock land cruiser maintenance manual, a Toyota 2000 alarm manual, and all other original manuals and literature from initial sale. This truck was a 12 year corporate lease for the first owner( he let his daughter drive it some which resulted in the scrape for mentioned on the quarter panel, it was the only damage on the incident(accident) reported, and I have all receipts for this and everything else from the original owner) the auto check and carfax speak for themselves. The good thing about the corpo. lease is it had to meet all Toyota factory maintenance intervals its whole life as part of the lease agreement. I am the second owner. All serious bidders are welcome to contact me through ebay, and will give my phone number for any and all questions. Serious bidders and inquiries only. This vehicle is sold with no warranty implied, and is being sold as is, so please ask any questions before bidding.

Toyota gives up more information on Frankfurt-bound Yaris Hybrid-R concept

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Toyota has undeniably carved out a niche for itself as the industry's leader in hybrid propulsion. What started out with the original Prius in 1997 has, over the past sixteen years, ballooned to what Toyota reports as a global hybrid portfolio of 23 models. But few (if any of them) are particularly exciting.
That's where the Yaris Hybrid-R concept comes in. Set to be showcased along with the rest of Toyota's hybrid and fuel-cell lineup at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show next month, the concept starts with one of the Japanese auto giant's least exciting models and upgrades it to more enticing territory. Toyota Motorsport GmbH - the same Cologne, Germany-based division that operated the company's F1 team, currently runs its Le Mans program and gave us that bonkers 650-horsepower Lexus LS - has slotted in a version of Toyota's new 1.6-liter Global Race Engine and paired it with a couple of electric motors for hybrid propulsion and through-the-road all-wheel drive.
Like the TS030 Hybrid LMP1, the Yaris Hybrid-R concept uses a super capacitor (instead of a conventional battery) to store the regenerated brake energy and give it upwards of 400 horsepower. That's about all Toyota is revealing at this point, but this is the first time it has confirmed the project is based on a Yaris, of all things, and the confirmation comes with the solitary teaser rendering you see above. Check out the press release after the jump and watch this space for more as Frankfurt fast approaches.

Land Rover, Toyota big winners in ALG top resale value awards

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

"Residual value is important for automakers and consumers because it's a complete indicator of the vehicle's future value." - Larry Dominique
Toyota and Land Rover took home the top brand honors in ALG's 2015 Residual Value Awards, which will be presented this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Toyota FT-86 Open Concept leaves us feeling flushed

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

When last we checked in on our topless would-be hero, the Toyota FT-86 convertible had been reportedly placed on "indefinite hold." That was back in early October, not long after Toyota had trotted out the rear-wheel-drive canvasback to Scion dealers as a possible future product carrot if they decided not to turn in their franchises. And yet, we're here at the Tokyo Motor Show, where Toyota has taken the time to at least repaint the FT-86 Open Concept in "Flash Red," if not build a whole other car (the original Geneva showcar was white). It's enough to make our heads spin like a teenager on the verge of a breakup. Will they? Won't they?
At this point, we still don't know any more than you do - the last word we heard out of Toyota was not encouraging, although the story was that the program could still be fast-tracked if management had a change of heart. As the car has never been seen before in Japan, perhaps Toyota is merely extending its domestic audience a courtesy view before it lines this showcar in mothballs, or maybe they're still trying to make a decision on its fate and gauging public reaction on the homefront.
Interestingly, in a new story published today, Automotive News quotes Subaru brand boss Yasuyuki Yoshinaga downplaying the likelihood of a production model, saying flatly "We make the car, so if we don't make it, it can't happen." The executive went on to note, "Our engineering department told me that losing the entire roof requires a complete redesign of the structure. It would need a big change." Given that such a car would probably trade in rather small volumes, that sounds like a significant hurtle.
