Always Garaged!!

Never off-roaded!

1997 Toyota Land Cruiser
159,800 Miles
Runs very strong.

Great condition!!!!
Clean carfax and title.

This cruiser was originally owned in Oklahoma. Purchased 4 years ago: spent 2 years in Colorado and then brought back to MN, where it was garage kept and had 300 miles put on in 2 years. It's now in Colorado

It is a beautiful truck. Really nice condition. I've owned several land cruisers, and still own a few others. She's a pretty one!

Full time 4wd (4x4, AWD)
This cruiser has the locking front and rear differentials
Tan Leather. Driver's seat has the normal cracking on the left side where you enter and exit.
There are a few stains in the carpet in the very back.
The plastic on some of the wood grain trim is delaminating. If this is a necessary change, there are packages online for $100 to replace it all.
Seating for 7. Fold down and removable rear seats, not shown in pictures. Easy to remove. I have them back in now.

Factory floor mats included
Auto everything
Sunroof
Running boards
Roof racks
Tow package

Timing chain, not a timing belt. Will last the life of the engine and not need to be changed!

2 items to note:
1. EGR valve has been replaced twice ($190 part), and the check engine light has come back on with the same diagnoses. I've talked to a few mechanics and looked at forums online to discover that this is not an issue that will affect anything. Many people have "blocked out" the use of this valve and cleared the code with no recurring issues.
2. There is a small button on the drivers side seat motor that will pop out from time to time when moving the seat forward and back.

This vehicle is a tank and has A LOT of life left. It will get you wherever you need to go and keep you safe doing it!

We are moving out of the country in the spring and own 3 other Land Cruiser. Time to let one of them go.

Let me know if you have further questions or need additional pictures.

Thanks for looking!

Autoblog Podcast #317:

Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.
The 10 most likely vehicles to be stolen in 2013 were:

NHTSA urges owners of recalled Takata airbag vehicles to take immediate action

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Department of Transportation are taking the unusual step of issuing a followup press release urging owners of certain recalled vehicles "to act immediately" to fix their cars and trucks. The problem in question concerns the repair campaigns for rupturing Takata airbag inflators issued in June and covers a long list of models from Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Infiniti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac.
While NHSTA doesn't specifically say why the recall is vital in the new release, Toyota's own explanation in its newly announced renotification campaign earlier today sheds some new light on the topic. According to the Japanese automaker, in testing, Takata found a possible link between the rupturing airbag inflators and high humidity. NHTSA is advocating that all owners pursue repairs immediately if they haven't already done so already. This is especially crucial for those drivers especially in Florida, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Virgin Islands and Hawaii because of the humid conditions there.
We don't need to tell you how dangerous an inadvertent airbag deployment could be - even in a stationary vehicle - but adding to the Takata issue is fears that the deployment could lead to shrapnel being sprayed into the cabin.
