One small hole in driver's seat the size of a quarter."

I've had this truck for over three years and it runs very strong.  It has only been in the shop for maintenance items (oil, brakes, etc).  It's been serviced by Metro Land Cruisers and they say that mechanically it is very solid.

Since I purchased it, I've done the following (receipts will be included):

- New Brake Rotors (4)
- New Calipers (4)
- New Pads
- New Brake lines
- New Catalytic Converters (2)
- New Cat Back Exhaust
- Recharged AC
- Alpine 7" Video AM/FM Head Unit w/ iPod input
- 4 New Sony Speakers
- New Full Sized Spare

The truck runs great at highway speeds (80 mph for me) and in the time that I've had it we've taken trips to Washington DC and Maine as well as PA and CT.   AC blows ice cold.  Heat is old school hot.  Leather seats.  Third Row seat included.  It also has a tow hitch and wiring harness as well.  It doesn't burn oil and doesn't leak oil.  Cruise control works perfectly.

I drive the truck to work at least one day a week as well as in the wintertime.  I bought it with 106,000 miles and have put 20,000 on it since (not a ton, but it gets used regularly).

Now the downside...

Body needs work, it looks good from 20 feet but has scratches and the roof is peeled.  Hood has a rust spot as does the rear tailgate and the A Pillars.  Two of the fender flares are loose.  Rear tailgate leaks in heavy rain (try finding a Cruiser that doesn't).  Electric windows get slow in cold weather (again, a typical Cruiser issue).  Small hole in driver's seat.  There is also a slight whistle from the passenger window at low speeds.  The only warning light lit on the dashboard is the ABS due to a bad speed sensor.  Do your research and you will see how durable these trucks are and how typical most of these issues are.

The photos are a little old, but still representative of the condition.  The most recent photo shows that I have removed the rear mud flaps (I still have them and they will be included in the sale).

If you are in the NYC or Westchester area and would like to see this Cruiser in person please send me an email.  I know that anyone that drives this truck will appreciate how well it runs.  Thanks.

Toyota begins shipping Le Yaris to America

Fri, 17 May 2013

Our tiniest Toyota (Scion iQ notwithstanding) is about to get a little French flair. The Japanese automaker announced Thursday that its Toyota Motor Manufacturing France facility would begin building Yaris models destined for North America - specifically, the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. This will mark the first time in history that Toyota has exported vehicles to North America from Europe.
Initially, Toyota will export roughly 25,000 Yaris models to North American markets from France each year. In order to handle this additional production, Toyota Motor Manufacturing France has invested 10 million euro into its French facility.
Despite being somewhat of a snooze-fest (it's a car!), the Yaris carries on in North America with a 106-horsepower 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, with prices starting at $14,370 for the three-door and $15,395 for the five-door, not including $795 for destination.

2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Giving Vanilla A Good Name
"Vanilla." Taken in modern context, that's not a compliment, but it should be. Vanilla actually has exotic origins, and as spices go, only saffron is more costly. Despite the realities, calling something "vanilla" is not whistling in admiration. The Toyota Camry has been called "vanilla" countless times since its debut, but both the car and the bean have something up their sleeves.
Scoff all you want, but vanilla is the most popular ice cream flavor, and there is no mainstream sedan that outsells the Camry. Apparently, vanilla has an underlying tinge of filthy lucre. We didn't feel rich, exactly, wheeling around in the Camry Hybrid, but we came away impressed, nonetheless.

Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.
The 10 most likely vehicles to be stolen in 2013 were:
