1993 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 in very desirable super white exterior with gray leather interior, 2 owner vehicle
originally purchased in Carson City, NV then brought to Eastern WA state by first owner, purchased by me almost 3
years ago with 51K miles and still resides in Eastern WA (Spokane), so this vehicle has spent its entire life in a
high desert dry inland western climate, and it shows! Always adult owned and garage kept by both owners, the most
off-road action this Cruiser has seen is the occasional dirt road! I was very lucky to find this Cruiser in such
original condition and with such low mileage; I have enjoyed, cared and made slight improvements to it like I was
going to keep it forever (which was the original plan). Clean CarFax, confirms 2 owners, no accidents and
extremely low mileage!
This is a likely one of the best examples of an incredibly well kept and well maintained original FZJ80 Series Land
Cruiser with extremely low miles and DIFF LOCKS, when you sit in the driver’s seat it makes you feel like you
have stepped back in time to 1993 which makes it hard to wipe the smile off your face! This is a Land Cruiser you
can buy and simply drive and enjoy.
If you are viewing this listing you know what a TRIPPLE LOCKED LAND CRUISER FZJ80 is but just in case you don’t
below are a few details.
4.5 Liter fuel injected straight 6, automatic, ABS, power windows/locks, PS, PB, sunroof, full time 4x4 (4WD) with
low range and center, front & rear diff locks with full floating rear axle.
This specific Land Cruiser was ordered without a factory roof rack, running boards or rear wind deflector. I
viewed the lack of these items as an increased benefit, not only for looks purposes but the roof rack and wind
deflector are common places for rust and/or paint issues to develop. The lack of running boards is a personal
preference but it did also mean that in its place the front wheel fenders where provided with factory Toyota Land
Cruiser mud flaps along with the rear wheels, which I prefer but is also a personal preference. The original owner
also had the dealership remove the third row seating which provides for extra cargo room. The third row seat belts
are included but a third row seat would need to be acquired if so desired (generally can be found online in cruiser
related forums fairly easily and in excellent condition, I can provide suggestions). This Cruiser was also
fortunate enough to not come with the gross fake wood grain or gold emblem packages.
These Land Cruisers are famous for their reliability and known to easily exceed 400,000 miles, with normal
maintenance this cruiser should last a lifetime if not longer!
This Cruiser runs, drives, brakes and shifts incredibly and just as it should with no issues at all. 4X4 system
works beautifully. CENTER, FRONT & REAR DIFF LOCKS all engage perfectly as well. Recent service and improvements
include:
- Switched to full synthetic oil (Shell Rotella T6) at 51k miles, changed every 3k
- Added a Fumoto oil drain valve for easy and mess free oil changes
- Added a 90 degree oil filter adapter for easy and mess free oil changes
- Replaced the PHH (Pesky Heater Hoses) with an improved silicone high heat version with stainless steel constant
torque clamps
- Coolant system flush when PHH was changed used recommended Toyota Red coolant
- Base lined all fluids (tranny, diffs and oil shortly after purchase)
- New BFG All Terrain KO2 285/75R16 tires at 70K miles
- New Old Man Emu (OME) 2.5” medium lift (spring coils and nitro sport shocks) at 71k miles
- New Old Man Emu (OME) steering stabilizer
- New Old Man Emu castor correction bushings for Old Man Emu lift at 71k miles
- New MAF 30mm front coil spacers (for level stance) at 71k miles
- Professional alignment completed after new lift components and tires were added, vehicle tracks and rides
beautifully
- New battery in 2014
- New front brake pads in 2014
The power windows work great, the original radio, CD and Tape all work even the power antenna works! The sunroof
functions properly with absolutely no leaks. The AC works and blows super cold and the heater with additional rear
heater keep you nice and toasty in cool weather! Really everything works on this Land Cruiser even the windshield
washer. Amazing cruiser, with all original Toyota glass all the way around! Even the original oil change sticker
at 975 miles is in excellent legible condition in the driver’s side door jamb!
The exterior is near perfect with original paint looking great with hardly a dent or scratch anywhere. There is one
ding right above the driver’s side fender that is hard to see in person let alone in photos but I wanted to note
it. The original alloy wheels look great and were sanded, primed, painted and clear coated with dark metallic gray
wheel paint including center caps. The original jack and tool kit are present. All original VIN stickers are
present.

Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S sales disappointing worldwide?

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

Okay, folks - it appears we've got a problem. The Toyota GT86, Europe's counterpart to our own beloved Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S coupes, is apparently not selling too well. This, according to Toyota's European Vice President of Research and Development, Gerald Killman, is what's limiting plans for additional variants of the rear-drive coupe.
"A faster version of that car would be at the top of most people's wish lists, but like the cabriolet, it is hard to justify a business case to push either model into production based on the current sales," Killman told AutoExpress. "Personally, I think that engine could use a little bit more," he added.
More troubling is that slow sales aren't limited to the Euro-spec car, with Killman claiming that the GT86 have been missing sales targets in major markets around the globe. It may not be that the US is one of those major markets, though. Scion's Vice President, Doug Murtha, tells Autoblog that his brand is happy with the sales of its version of the GT86, the FR-S. 18,000 units were sold last year, which Murtha says is "generally in line with original expectations for the car."

Autocar pits McLaren MP4-12C against turbo Toyota GT86

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

The Toyota GT86, in all of its forms, is one of the best-handling cars money can buy, a trait that can put a smile on the faces of all but the most jaded car enthusiasts. But if good handling isn't what they're looking for, then what is? Our first guess would have to be more power, something the 200-horsepower Toyota would benefit from. Autocar tries out that theory by driving two turbocharged GT86s on track, then pitting the more powerful one against the 616-hp McLaren MP4-12C in a track battle.
The first GT86 turbo Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe drives makes around 255 rear-wheel horsepower and a bucket-load more torque than the stock car. That's plenty of power to either have a lot of fun or get into a lot of trouble. But the GT86 that Sutcliffe tails in the McLaren is race-prepped, stripped to the bone and wears slicks to harness a heavy-hitting 335 hp at the wheel. Weighing in at under 2,500 pounds, the Toyota can't overcome the MP4-12C's power-to-weight ratio of 5.3 pounds per horsepower, but it comes pretty close.
Enjoy a lot of chasing and drifting fun in the video below!

Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Scion FR-S [w/video]

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Toyota has been hosting its Pro/Celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix on Long Beach since 1977. The charity event, which has raised millions of dollars over the years, traditionally pits Hollywood celebrities against professional athletes (including race car drivers) on the full Grand Prix course in modified street vehicles. The short, sprint-style race is popular with the crowds as the amateur drivers race uninhibited - the result is an action-packed race with plenty of excitement and automotive... er... carnage.
Over the decades, the drivers have raced a variety of Toyota products including last year's front-wheel-drive Scion tC. But this year, Toyota announced at the Chicago Auto Show that the new rear-wheel-drive Scion FR-S would be stepping up to the plate. The good news only became better when Toyota Motorsports invited us out to Southern California's Willow Springs Raceway (the same circuit where the drivers train and practice) to be one of the first behind the wheel.
