1991 Toyota Landcruiser Clean! Fj80 Garaged Kept on 2040-cars
New Bern, North Carolina, United States
91 Toyota Landcruiser- This is the first year of the redesigned bodystyle for the enthusiasts and collectors. This bodystyle is more rugged and tough looking in my opinion. It was a 1 owner vehicle until a month ago. I have the original window sticker, landcruiser 91 owners manual book and various other dealer paperwork that goes with the truck. Everything works as it should, A/C blows ICE COLD, heat is hot, original radio works, brakes are good to go, all dash lights work, all exterior lights also work. This landcruiser was not beat on. Power sunroof works, power locks and windows all work as well. Bought new here in New Bern NC in 91 at Riverside Toyota (they are no longer in business) This cruiser has never been used offroad. The underneath is as clean as the top. No rust, it still has the original paint which shines great. There is one small spot on the top of the hood that is faded a small amount but other than that it shines great. No oil leaks, no weird noises. 205k orig miles which is less than 10k miles a year all highway miles into town as this is a rural area. It starts right up and runs like a sewing machine. Recent work complete with receipts- New fuel pump/oil change $585 New tune up, cap/rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter $272 New fuel sending unit from Toyota to fix the broken gas gauge $250 Tire tread is ok but due to the age of the tires I would replace, depending on how you plan on using it. Bid with confidence. I will assist buyer by meeting the shipper if needed. Inspections welcome. |

Eiji Toyoda dead at 100
Tue, 17 Sep 2013Toyota has had number of chiefs over its 76-year history, but none ever served as long as Eiji Toyoda. The younger cousin of the company's founder served as president of the automaker from 1967 to 1982 and as chairman of the Toyota Motor Corporation for another ten years following the unification of the manufacturing and sales divisions.
During his 25 years at the helm, Eiji Toyoda (pictured above in 1967) was credited with establishing the company's headquarters in Toyota City, spearheading the development of the Prius, expanding production overseas for the first time, launching the Lexus brand and turning Toyota from a minor player into one of the largest automakers in the world.
Even after his retirement in 1992, he remained an honorary chairman and close advisor to his successors, and chaired the company's museum. He died of heart failure, ending a 100-year life that started on September 12, 1913, before the company that bore his family's name (albeit slightly modified) had even started building automatic looms, let alone automobiles. We extend our condolences to the Toyoda family and our congratulations on an accomplished life.
Toyota found not at fault in alleged unintended acceleration crash
Fri, 11 Oct 2013Toyota has already paid out millions and billions of dollars in settlements surrounding unintended acceleration, but the first lawsuit in the matter, which headed to a California court in July, has reached a verdict. Following the 2009 death of Noriko Uno, whose 2006 Camry was hit by another car and then sped out of control before crashing into a tree, the jury found that Toyota was not at fault in the crash.
Even though the 2006 Camry (shown above) wasn't involved in any of the unintended acceleration-related recalls and it was not equipped with a brake override, Automotive News reports that the jury's verdict says there was no defect in the car and actually blames the entire incident on the driver that ran into Uno's car - to the tune of $10 million. The accident started when the other driver ran a stop sign and hit Uno's car, and the report says that medical conditions (including diabetes) caused Uno to fail to stop her Camry.
The AN article also states that this lawsuit was a bellwether case for around 85 other personal-injury and wrongful-death suits against Toyota, but there are still many impending suits across the country. Scroll down for an official statement on this particular case from Toyota.
2014 Toyota 4Runner priced at $32,820*
Wed, 04 Sep 2013Toyota has announced pricing on its facelifted 2014 4Runner. The rough-and-tumble SUV will be available in three grades: base SR5, upmarket Limited and off-road-ready Trail. Depending on the trim level, buyers will have the choice of rear-drive or one of two different four-wheel drive systems. The sole engine is Toyota's 4.0-liter, 270-horsepower V6.
Entry-level buyers can get an SR5 for $32,820. That includes 17-inch wheels, fabric seats and Toyota's Entune infotainment system. Adding four-wheel drive bumps the price by $2,920, while the Premium Package (SofTex faux leather seats, navigation, sunroof, auto-dimming mirrors and power passenger seat) adds $1,875. All model prices listed do not include $860 for destination and tax.
The Trail starts at $35,725, while the Trail Premium bumps the price to $38,645, adding the same suite of equipment found on the SR5. While it boasts the same standard equipment as the SR5, the Trail is better suited for going off road. A multi-terrain response system comes standard, as does hill-start assist and Toyota's Crawl Control. For an extra sum, buyers can opt for the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, which automatically disconnects the sway bars for better articulation and trail holding.
