1989 FJ62 Land Cruiser. Desirable Two Tone. 227K miles. Runs great. Overall clean interior (some stains form coffee flavoring spills). Currently has front seat covers. Great rig.

I just replaced the Manifold (upper/lower) gaskets.
AC/ Heater works great.
There are few small (three quarter size rust spots on driver side top wheel fender). They are underneath and on edge where the fender well meets the hood (see pics).
All electric works. The passenger side Fr/Rear Window are slow going but works.
Tires have a lot of tread left on them. Regular oil changes, recent Tranny flush and smooth transmission. (Automatic Transmission)

The rear heater (between the front seats) works/ heats great but has a high pitch whir sound...sounds like a piece of trash/ debris stuck in the fan?

The tailgate carpet piece has come off but I still have it. All Cargo panels are intact and complete. Original Tool kit and 2 jack stands. Original manual.

The NEED FIXED:
1. The rear window washer does not work but that I think is due to a link in the tube running up to the spray nozzle. The pump in the water bag is pumping. Just haven't got around to fix it.
2. The Air intake tube (besides valve cover - and under the upper manifold) needs to be replaced. I have the parts but no cash to get it in to the shop to get it fixed.
3. Few little dings. But overall super clean and in great cosmetic shape.
4. The metal trim piece (that runs under the two drivers side doors) is missing.
5. Valves will need adjusting.

Overall the rig gets a lot of looks and many people comment on its great shape.

Local Pick Up. Shipping is buyers responsibility and I will help the best I can.
No Warranty.

Toyota Camry, Honda Civic inventories mounting as US automakers make inroads

Thu, 11 Jul 2013

Two of the hottest-selling cars in America aren't quite as hot as they used to be. The Toyota Camry and Honda Civic are both seeing dealer supplies increase in the face of renewed competition from the much-improved Detroit Three.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the Camry's dealer inventory is 15 days higher than its seasonal average, while the Civic is 25 days above average. Things aren't expected to get better for Toyota and Honda, as RBC Capital Markets analyst Joseph Spak marked the two Japanese offerings as "at risk for reduced output."
The Detroit Three, meanwhile, are seeing supplies dwindle as demand increases, especially for the Ford Fusion, which has seen an 18-percent increase in 2013 sales, and the Chevrolet Cruze, which was second only to the Camry in June 2013 sales.

J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.

First Toyota unintended acceleration case headed for trial

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Toyota is going to be back in the spotlight, as the first of its unintended acceleration lawsuits is headed for trial. This case covers a Los Angeles sushi shop owner, Noriko Uno. According to the what the family told The Detroit News, Uno only put about 10,000 miles on her 2006 Toyota Camry in four years. Uno was apparently afraid of high speeds, avoiding the freeway and taking a route home along LA's surface streets to avoid them.
On August 28, 2009, Uno's Camry suddenly accelerated to 100 miles per hour, eventually striking a telephone poll and a tree and killing her. The family contends that Uno attempted to step on the brakes and pull the emergency brake, neither of which brought her speed under control, while Toyota maintains that improperly installed floormats and driver error have been behind the majority of the 80 cases expected to be heard in court.
In Uno's case, The Detroit News is expecting the trial to focus on the lack of an override if the gas and brake pedals were pressed at the same time. Brake overrides were installed on Toyota's European fleet. The Uno family attorney will need to prove to the jury that it wasn't driver error that killed Noriko Uno.
