Toyota Blizzards have a strong following world over, Australia, New Zealand, U.K, Russia. These under-rated units have proven themselves as reliable transportation both on and off the road.

The Blizzard gained a very strong following in Japan as an excellent off road vehicle due to it's nimble agility. It was designed to go head to head with the Suzuki Jimny and the bigger brother the Land Cruiser.

The Blizzard competed excellently with it's short, narrow, wheel base. It is a very maneuverable unit with excellent approach, break over and departure angles. The light weight coupled with the reliable fuel efficient 2L-T engine is a winning combination. Add to that the 5 speed and you have a vehicle capable of in excess of 36 mpg.

The 2.4L turbo diesel is in a class of it's own. Since it is moving less than 3000 lbs down the road and along the trail the 2L-T is a perfect choice for this truck. The final gear ratio of 3.7 is perfect for booting around town, playing off road and puttering down the highway.

39,000 Miles Original
It has never seen a salt road yet.
Undercarrige is amazing,
2LT (turbo charged 2.4L diesel)
Very strong and reliable engine
PROVEN 38 mpg at 90 km/h and 32 mpg at 110 k/h
Fun to drive. It takes about 15 minutes to get accustomed to the stick. Actually pretty easy. All gears are fine. The odd time second gear needs a double clutch, but happens when the fluid is cold. Once it warms up it seems fine.

Starts quick.

Almost Mint Condition.
A few scratches and minor drivers side dent and cracked mirror housing. Interior is excellent - Amazing with a typical tear on the lower driver seat side
3 Way Console Adjustable Shock Valving
Fog Lamps
Tilt Meter, Clock, Tachometer, Turbo Indicator
Complete Original Factory Tool Kit
Clean Engine Bay
3.70 Differential Gears
This is an Excellent Unit

I realize for US Import it needs to be 25 years old. The is 45 days away from being so, however the manufacturing date is over 25 years. I'll hold it if purchaser wants. I might consider driving it to you local if it is reasonably close. I'd just fly home after the fact.

I had to put in a bogus vin # As EBay would not accept the one I have

Toyota unintended acceleration lawsuit settled for $16M

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

Slowly, the many loose threads still dangling after the unintended acceleration issue Toyota faced a few years ago are being resolved. The Orange County District Attorney's office was believed to be the first DA's office to take Toyota to court, its suit alleging that Toyota knew its cars had defects and continued to sell them. The suit sought to "permanently enjoin Toyota from continued unlawful, unfair, deceptive, and fraudulent business practices as it pertains to both consumers and competitors" and asked for $2,500 "for every violation of the Unfair Business Practices Act," plus costs.
That suit has now been settled, Toyota - without admitting fault or wrongdoing - agreeing to pay $16 million to the county. Half of the money will go to the Orange County Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership, another four million dollars to the OC DA's office to investigate economic crime, the remaining four million being used to pay for the case.

Honda, Nissan and Mazda recalling 3 million vehicles for airbag inflators

Three million more vehicles can be added to the worldwide tally to be repaired for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata. Honda, Nissan, and Mazda have all issued recalls to replace the bad part, including about 1.2 million of them in North America. NHTSA has been investigating all three companies, plus Chrysler and Toyota, for potentially affected vehicles.
Honda is recalling roughly 1.02 million Civic, CR-V, Odyssey and Element models In North America, built between April 2000 and October 2002. Mazda needs to repair 14,794 units of the RX-8 and Mazda6, and Nissan has 228,000 vehicles in North America to be fixed.
Chrysler is also starting what it calls a "regional field action" to replace the inflators in the 2006 Dodge Charger, according to a company spokesperson. The company says that it has not yet found the problem in any of its vehicles, but it's being done "out of an abundance of caution." The final number of Chargers affected will be announced later this week.

Oh, Kei Go: Toyota set to enter JDM minicar market?

Fri, 01 Oct 2010

Toyota is looking to get bigger... by going smaller. The Japanese automaker is looking to enter the kei car market, a popular segment in its homeland. Kei cars are small vehicles with restrictions on length (11.15 feet), width (4.86 feet), engine size (660 cubic centimeters) and power output (63 horsepower). Currently, Toyota is the only Japanese automaker not producing vehicles for this segment, but that is set to change, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
Thanks to its relationship with Daihatsu, Toyota can jump right into the kei car game. Daihatsu is one of the largest producer of kei vehicles and it is currently owned by Toyota.
Although kei cars are restricted in terms of size and power, they are not restricted by technology. Automakers utilize different drive configurations, powertrains and amenities to keep their cars fresh. Daihatsu and Toyota plan to work together to produce Toyota-branded kei cars. The two companies will utilize Toyota's knowledge of electric and hybrid systems to produce efficient little vehicles for the Japanese market.
