1980 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj43 Base Sport Utility 2-door 4.2l on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
Hello, for your consideration is my 1980 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ43. This rare truck is in good condition. If your looking at this truck you obviously know the amazing history behind these unique vehicles. The truck is oem Green in color with the rare tan soft top that looks great. Inside the truck has a unique tan heavy canvas material for the interior. It actually feels real nice and not sticky like the usual vinyl. The rear floor of the bed is just scratched and very solid. It has the original famous and super reliable inline 2F 6 cylinder motor. To make this truck even more special the motor is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. You also get power steering. You should see this cruiser on the highway. All I can say it is amazing. It runs great. I have put oem spark plug wires and oil filter. I ran new heavy gauge positive/negative wires and a brand new interstate battery. It has Hankook tires and has old school centerline aluminum wheels painted black. I just installed an ALPINE radio with SIRUS XM RADIO(not ready but actual xm radio) new owner pays subscription,BLUETOOTH, and PHONE CONNECTIONS. This thing is amazing and everywhere I drive it is non stop thumbs up and people honking. People take pictures and even Jeep people seem to love it. My Cruiser has a clear florida title under my name and it is in the USA not some other country. It is my vehicle and not a dealer. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email or call my number at 305-302-0798. The cruiser is being sold locally. GOOD LUCK!

Toyota settles first wrongful death suit related to unintended acceleration
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Toyota's sales seem to have rebounded from the unintended acceleration issues from 2009 and 2010, but the automaker is far from done dealing with this situation. Following a settlement worth up to $1.4 billion for economic loss to affected vehicle owners, Toyota has settled rather than going to trial in a wrongful death lawsuit stemming from an accident in Utah in 2010 that left two passengers dead. This isn't the first case in which Toyota has settled, but it was the first among a consolidated group of cases being held in Santa Ana, CA.
According to The Detroit News, this case was scheduled to take place next month, and it was for a November 2010 incident in which Paul Van Alfen and Charlene James Lloyd were killed in a Camry when, based on findings by the Utah Highway Patrol, the accelerator got stuck causing the car to speed out of control and hit a wall; the terms of the settlement were not announced.
The article says that while Toyota will settle on some cases, it doesn't plan on settling on all of them as it still wants to be able to "defend [its] product at trial." This will probably be the case in suits claiming that software for the drive-by-wire accelerator was the cause of an accident in a Toyota or Lexus vehicle. The question of whether or not the electronic accelerator played any role in this problem has been a hot-button topic since the beginning. Toyota has issued recalls in the past to attempt to prevent unintended acceleration caused by trapped floor mats and faulty accelerator pedals, but it also says driver error was to blame in some instances.

Watch this video diary of a 900-hp Toyota Supra build
Sat, 08 Jun 2013If you've ever looked at a car with nearly 1,000 horsepower and wondered why anyone needs that amount of thrust, you may want to take a look at the video below. In it, one gentleman details his descent into Toyota Supra madness, starting with a pristine factory example and stumbling down the rabbit hole of modification. What makes this particular clip interesting is just how honest the owner is as he explains the evolution of his car. He doesn't just prattle off a list of parts like he's reading the menu at an IHOP.
Instead, he painstakingly pulls us through the car's growth, detailing each iteration and what pushed him to the next stage of the build every time. From this point of view, it looks less like someone walked into a shop and lit a massive stack of $100 bills on fire and more like a quasi-logical progression of events. Or at least it does to me. You can check out the build in the video below, complete with plenty of Fast and the Furious references and racing. Win, win, win.
