1980 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. Don't miss out on this one! I have owned this FJ for the past 10 years and it has
given me nothing but happiness and no problems. I will give a little history, at least what I know, and was told
when I purchased it. I bought this from a gentleman in the Atlanta, GA area back in 2006. He told me that this FJ
came from CA and was owned previously by a director or producer in the L.A. area. I have never researched this so I
can not confirm or deny this story. The previous owner had it painted the Olive Brown color that it is today along
with the black undercarriage. This FJ was originally light blue. There is no rust or body filler on the body that I
can find which tells me this truck came from the west. So the CA story may be true. The fenders, wheel wells, floor
pans, ambulance doors and rear sill are all solid as you can also see in the pictures. This is a solid reliable
vehicle that has not been molested as you can see by the pictures. Over the years I have repaired anything that
needed attention and also added the OME suspension. A perfect candidate to keep driving as I have been doing or a
clean slate for a restoration. It always starts right up and shifts through the gears smoothly. The 4WD works as it
should and this thing is almost unstoppable in low range 4WD. Some other features of this FJ are listed below;
Garage kept while in my ownership
Original 4.2 liter straight six engine
Original emission controls
4 speed transmission
New front disc brakes
Rear drum brakes
Air conditioner. Toyota compressor and different blower unit.
Old Man EMU front and rear springs, shocks and steering stabilizer.
Front winch with remote.
Gauges work as they should.
Engine compression last time I checked (about a year ago) ranged from 145-147 per cylinder
New brake master cylinder and fluid flush.
Fresh oil change and radiator flush.
Stereo with amp and 2 rear speakers attached to roll bar. Aux cord to play tunes from your phone.
Locking center console which is nice when you take the top off.

2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport
Tue, 16 Apr 2013"Oh yeah, Toyota still makes the Tacoma." Admit it, that's what you just said to yourself. It's a perfectly natural reaction, but the Tacoma has been quietly anchoring its segment for years, outselling every other compact pickup without making too much of a fuss. Toyota hasn't neglected the Tacoma - it was updated in 2012 with a revised nose and interior as the most noteable changes.
In a world awash with high-value fullsize pickups all vying for your attention, the Tacoma still charms more than a few buyers out of their cash. I hooked a Tacoma for a week to see whether it still has enough to recommend it.
Driving Notes
Despite slow sales, no new Scion models in near-term pipeline [w/poll]
Mon, 09 Sep 2013According to a top Toyota executive, the Japanese automaker will not be introducing any fresh Scion models in the near future, Reuters reports. As of August, Scion sales for this year were down 1.6 percent from 2012 and accounted for only 0.3 percent of Toyota's overall US sales. And last month, Toyota Motor Sales USA Senior Vice President Bob Carter informed the 1,000 dealers who carry Scion that they can drop the brand without penalty.
However, never fear - Carter has assured that, while nothing new is coming for at least six months, the company is still very committed to the quirky Scion brand. Toyota launched Scion, which targets the youth market, in 2003, and sales peaked in 2006. The brand currently has five models, with the 2013 best-sellers being the FR-S sports coupe followed by the tC sedan and xB hatchback.
What do you think about Toyota's decision to hold off on introducing new or refreshed Scion models? Are they heading in the right direction, or does this spell doom for the funky Gen Y brand?
Toyota reveals Tokyo Motor Show concepts
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Toyota is getting ready for the Tokyo Motor Show later this month, and to tease us, the Japanese automaker has released photos and information about the concept vehicles it'll be bringing to the show. In all, there'll be five world premieres from Toyota (six if you split the Voxy and Noah minivan concepts), including some vehicles that'll be released in the near future, and others that need more time to incubate.
Let's get the world premieres out first. Toyota is a pioneer of gasoline-electric hybrids, but it's also pursuing hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles. The clearest indication of this is the FCV concept, a hydrogen-powered sedan in the same vein as the the FCV-R that will bow at the auto show. (Read more about the FCV, here.)
Other world debuts include the FV2 concept (pictured), a unique, one-seat future vehicle that emphasizes the "Fun to Drive" philosophy; the JPN TAXI concept, a next-generation taxi concept designed with Japanese hospitality in mind; and the Voxy and Noah concepts, next-generation minivans that differ most in exterior design cues and are scheduled to launch in the Japanese market in early 2014.
