This cruiser is ready for the summer season. Full cage, 4 pt. harness, 4" skyjacker lift, reversed shackles, 456 rear end, And ARB's front and back. Tires are 35x12.5x15 SSR's. Saginaw power steering, The 2F engine is legally de-smogged and equipped with Weber 38/38 synchro, K&N filter, Headers, and flow Master exhaust. The windshield was replaced a few years back (through Toyota). Also added a new skid plate. The cruiser has had new brake shoes less than 2000 miles ago. The 2F engine pulls, strong, but with all the other work done, it would also be an excellent candidate for a V-8 conversion. Emergency brake, cd player, and gauges work. The tach was also added. While certainly not a show vehicle, this is an excellent driver--meant to be used for back road adventures. As discussed above, more than 12K worth of modifications were done to the Cruiser over the past years. There are some small patches of rust in the usual places--back of bed where the tailgate closes. But to the best of my knowledge, there are no major areas of body rust. Also sold with the cruiser are several tops, including a 1976 FJ40 Hard top, side and rear doors (ambulance doors). and a box of Man A Fre seals (new in box) The hard top is white and yellow. There is also a bikini top, rear dust panel, and soft side doors. The blue paint still shines up nice (as shown in photos. And the aluminum wheels are in good condition. Thanks for looking, and good luck on the bidding!

Shuttle-hauling Tundra finds permanent home in science exhibit
Mon, 03 Jun 2013The idea of lifting a full-size pickup truck completely off the ground by hand might seem as likely as, say, said pickup truck towing a 150,000-pound space shuttle, but... hurray, physics! The same Toyota Tundra that towed the Space Shuttle Endeavour to its final resting place at the California Science Center is now on permanent display there as an exhibit that shows how a lever works.
Like all levers, this exhibit uses a fulcrum allowing people other than Superman to lift the 5,625-pound pickup (plus an extra 1,000 pounds for the rig). That's almost as impressive as the Tundra pulling 17 times its rated towing capacity back in October. Regardless, Toyota is once again cashing in on the publicity stunt and visitors to the science center get a live demonstration of a simple machine - we call that a win-win.
Toyota confirms 2014 Highlander is in a New York state of mind
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Toyota has confirmed that it will be showing off the all-new 2014 Highlander at the New York Auto Show later this month. It's been a while since we've heard about the updated Highlander, but given just how long this thing has been on the market, we certainly hope that the list of changes will be more extensive than the new 2014 Toyota Tundra that debuted in Chicago last month.
Currently, the Highlander is offered in both naturally aspirated and hybrid versions, with front- and all-wheel drive. We don't expect the formula to change too much, since sales of the Japanese CUV are still steady - well in line with newer players in the segment like the Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder and GM's Lambda triplets (Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave).
We'll have the full skinny on the new Highlander in the coming weeks. For now, scroll down to read Toyota's incredibly brief press blast.
Subaru Indiana plant to stop building Toyota Camry
Fri, 15 Nov 2013Subaru may be set to end production of the Toyota Camry at its Lafayette, IN facility by 2017, according to a report from the Louisville Journal-Courier and a CBS affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina. Speaking to the plant's Executive Vice President Tom Easterday, the whole affair sounds like a done deal.
"Based on changes in Toyota's production plans, they have decided that the award-winning Camry production contract will not be renewed," Easterday said. Easterday was quick to emphasize that just because Camry production would end, doesn't mean jobs will be lost. "There will be no loss of jobs at SIA as a result of this," he said, before adding that the loss of Camry production will have no impact Subaru's $400 million investment to ready the plant for Impreza production in 2016. That said, adding a promised 900 jobs may take longer than originally planned, as Camry production staff are set to be retrained on Subaru production.
SIA currently has the capacity to produce 100,000 Camrys per year, and began production of the family sedan in 2007 alongside production of the Subaru Outback, Legacy and eventually, the soon-to-be-discontinued Tribeca.
