Pleasant Grove, Utah, United States

Condition: Body is solid without any large dents, has some minor rust in rockers side and rear, common for early Cruisers.  Paint needs to be refreshed.  This was the next step in the restoration just haven't gotten to it.  Interior is Good, the seats have had Indian covers since we purchased it, and it SLEEPS IN THE GARAGE.  V8 Conversion has less than 500 mile on it, we only drive it occasionally in Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons.  We leave the top off and wait for good weather.  It is a blast to drive and has LOTS of POWER!!

Features:  Completed a Chryler V8 Conversion w/ Automaic and Jeep two speed transfer case also Ford 9" Custom Posi rear end.  Preserved the original wheel bolt pattern.  Chrysler conversion has oil filter on passenger side and eliminates the need to alter stock steering.  Torquer Camshaft, performance; heads, induction, oil pump.  Built it for performance and reliability, not to radical.   New Aluminum 3" radiator with electric cooling fans, heavy duty trans cooler, new brakes.  Hard top with full height doors included, they have side windows that crank up and down, included as well are rear side by side doors. Also new soft top, never put on, just purchased about a year ago.  Stock Roll Bar.  Dual heaters one front and one rear. Email me if you have questions, I probably forgot somethings.

History:    Purchased from original owner  in the late 1970's early 1980's can't remember exactly, it's been a while.  We have owned it ever since.  Started the V8 conversion in 1990's always hated the SMOG straight 6 in this model, the 1970 Cruiser I owned had the non smog version and I really liked that motor. Finished conversion about 5 years ago.  Haven't driven 500 miles since the conversion, purchased a 66 Cad. Conv. and drive that with my wife now better ride.  The 76 Cruiser had a tree limb fall on front drivers side hood and fender and insurance fixed it in the 80's and the paint oxidized few years later, not a good body shop repair. It has never rolled, or been in a flood, never even rubbed hard on rocks.  Went to Moab Utah once in the 80's and loved it but haven't been back.  A lot of memories tied up with the kids when they were young, just not driving it any more.  Not looking for just a buyer.... but a good home for the "Bruiser" as we call it.

Shipping and Payment:  Shipping NOT included, send cashiers check and will accommodate your shipping arrangements, or schedule a visit and bring cashier check or cash, I will hand you or send you the title.

2014 Toyota Aygo is so cross with itself

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

It almost made it, but images of the redesigned Toyota Aygo have leaked ahead of its official debut at tomorrow's Geneva Motor Show. The new Aygo sports an aggressive look overall with a, um, mark on its face.
That distinguishing design feature aside, we quite like the angular headlights and muscular overall look of this little city car. The gaping trapezoidal air intake make the Aygo look more substantial, while swollen rear wheel arches hint at something sportier than your standard commuter device.
Sportiness, though, isn't likely to be a big part of the Aygo. As it's built on the same platform as the Citroën C1 and Peugeot 108, we should expect the same pair of gas-powered engines, which means at best, the Toyota will come to market with 82 horsepower under hood.

Toyota RAV4 "Adventure" brings the butch

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

Just last week, your humble author had a 2013 Toyota RAV4 in his garage, and he couldn't help noting that even in mid-level XLE trim, its aesthetics lacked oomph, due in large part to its cheap-looking black bumpers and airy-looking wheel wells. Judging by the RAV4 "Adventure" on display at the Geneva Motor Show, someone at Toyota must've been thinking the same thing.
With Japan's biggest automaker understandably focused on bigger reveals, information on this butched-up softroader has proven to be hard to come by, with no press materials whatsoever. We don't even know if this is a pure concept or if it's actually being considered for production. Either way, we approve. The 20-inch dark-finish alloys probably don't do much for ride quality, but they certainly look nicely aggressive, as does the new lower fascia with its prominent lower lip. Other changes include beefier wheel arches, side rails, headlamps with integrated LEDs, twin-element fog lamps and mesh grille inserts. All of the changes are quite well integrated - enough so that the Adventure largely avoids looking like a SEMA refugee in person.

Ford Fusion production scaled back just 3 months after it was accelerated

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

Three months after kicking off production of the Ford Fusion at its Flat Rock, MI factory, Ford Motor Company is taking steps to trim output in the face of heavily discounted competition from Toyota and a growing supply of vehicles.
The addition of Fusion production in Flat Rock - which also builds the Mustang - was meant to be what pushed the handsome mid-sizer past its arch-nemesis, the Toyota Camry. An extra facility building Fusions was also meant to curb the growing demand for Ford's highly profitable sedan.
But with word that Flat Rock would take "approximately" one extra week off for the holidays combined with an 88-day supply of Fusions - reportedly due in no small part to what Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas called "aggressive discounting of the Camry" - some analysts are now beginning to wonder if Ford may have overextended itself by adding a second Fusion facility to the mix.
