This sought after, rust free, pre-1970 body, converted to bucket seats. Engine is the desirable 2F motor, from I believe a 1974. Mated to the 4 speed transmission, which is much much better than the original 3 speed on the column. The paint and motor rebuild is fresh as of about a year ago. There is a Warn 8,000 lb winch up front, and meaty 33 inch tires. In great great shape.
Brand new seats from "Besttop" specific for the FJ40's, custom fit the seat mount/risers to work in this year. This is a head turner. It runs/drives great, 4 wheel drive works great, really needs nothing. It does come with a white soft top and soft doors, however, they are in sad shape and I can't guarantee all of the parts are in tact for installation, as I have never had it on the vehicle. Toyota, Ford and Honda again top Consumer Reports Car-Brand Perception Survey
Fri, 01 Feb 2013Consumer Reports has released its annual Car-Brand Perception Survey, and the list looks awfully familiar. The top six brands are identical to last year's results, with Toyota, Ford and Honda continuing to occupy the podium. All told, Toyota walked away with 133 points, putting it 15 ahead of second-place Ford. Honda jumped 26 points this year, narrowing Ford's lead to just four points in total.
Consumer Reports polls buyers from across the country on how they see multiple brands in seven categories, including quality, safety, value, performance, design/style, technology/innovation and environmentally friendly/green. Researchers then combine the findings to come up with the total brand score.
While value and performance remain important to buyers, CR found quality and safety are still on top when it comes to significance. Scion and Mitsubishi found themselves at the bottom of the pack with the worst score of all, tied at just six points. Ram, Fiat and Mini filled out the lowest five with scores of seven, eight and 10 points, respectively. Toyota will steer clear of driverless cars
Thu, 04 Sep 2014Toyota executives say the company's primary focus is on safety. At least for the time being, that means the company won't pursue development of a driverless car.
Speaking at the company's advanced safety seminar in Ypsilanti, MI, Thursday morning, Seigo Kuzumaki, Toyota's deputy chief safety technology officer, said that Toyota envisions a future driving environment that optimizes the best of both humans and computers, not choosing one over the other.
