1963 Toyota Land Cruiser on 2040-cars

Year:1963 Mileage:56944
Location:

Saint Thomas, Pennsylvania, United States

Saint Thomas, Pennsylvania, United States

Here you have a very hard to find, original (with exceptions noted) Land Cruiser.  It has had a full top to bottom restoration with no expense spared.

So first things first, here is the bad.  The tires are obviously not original and the side steps, hinges and spring shackles are aftermarkets from Cool Cruisers.  That's it.  Everything else is original to this year.

It is titled a 1966 but it is in fact a 63 by the serial number.  You will look a long time to find another even close.  We even rebuilt the engine complete with pistons and a new head.  All body repairs were done with a welder.  There is no body filler in this Cruiser.  It also has the original tool kit and jack. We did not replace the wiring harness because the original harness was virtually flawless.

For those of you who know Land Cruisers know what this one offers and can't deny what an incredible find this one is.  From the bi-fold back doors to the bug catcher vent window, this one is an exceptional piece.  Pictures pretty much tell the story but if you have specific questions, please ask.

I will not accept bids from out of USA.  If you are from outside of the US and would like to bid, you will need to find and agent here in the states to handle the transaction.  Sale is final as is where is.  No warranty is expressed or implied.  Keep in mind, you are buying a 50 year old vehicle.  I have done my best to accurately describe the vehicle and provided ample pictures to show the condition.  Payment is due immediately at the end of the auction.  Cash, check, certified check, money order or transfer are acceptable means of payment.  Any checks must be accompanied by a letter of guarantee from the bank which it is written and clear funds prior to pickup.  No shipping is included.  I reserve the right to end the auction early as the vehicle is for sale by other means.  Any dogs and kids pictured are not included in the auction.

Guys, (and ladies) bid early and bid often.  You may never get another opportunity on one like this!

Sales incentive growth clustered around brands with few CUVs, trucks

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

While it's arguably been around the longest, the dominance of the four-door sedan has been under threat for many years. As a further sign of the hurtin' that SUVs and crossovers have put on today's four-doors, a new report from Automotive News points to the increasing use of incentives by brands reliant on cars and light on CUVs and pickups.
Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Kia have all been stung by double-digit increases in their incentives-to-transaction price ratio, according to AN, which cites data from TrueCar. Honda's ratio is up 14 percent, while Toyota, VW and Kia are up 18, 15 and 19 percent, respectively.
"Most of the incentive growth we have seen is in product segments with low demand - midsized or large sedans," TrueCar CEO John Krafcik told AN. "As this trend goes on, the brands with three-sedan strategies are going to be in worse shape on incentive spending than the crossover brands."

2015 Toyota Prius C is still colorful, still gets 53 mpg

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

Few vehicles can match the affordable fuel economy of the $19,000, 53-mile-per-gallon Toyota Prius C, and that fact isn't likely to change for 2015, as the Japanese company has issued a moderate refresh of its sub-compact hybrid.
As mid-cycle refreshes go, this is a pretty standard affair, with a larger grille and tweaked LED headlights at the front of the Prius C, and more expressive taillights at the back. Toyota made some minor changes in the cabin, updating materials throughout, but not fiddling too much with the overall level of equipment.
Aside from those modest changes, this is the same fuel-efficient five-door, retaining its 1.5-liter, 73-horsepower, 82-pound-foot four-cylinder, while an electric motor tosses in an extra 26 ponies, for a total system output of 99 horsepower. Along with the 53-mpg highway rating, the C will return 46 mpg in the city.

Toyota nearing $1B settlement of unintended acceleration criminal probe

Sun, 09 Feb 2014

According to those all-too-nebulous "people familiar with the matter," Toyota is close to a settlement with the US federal government to end a criminal probe over its long-running unintended acceleration fiasco. Though Toyota has never admitted guilt, the deal could reportedly crest a billion dollars and would likely include a criminal deferred prosecution agreement, and while we're not legal experts, The Wall Street Journal explains that such a deal would "[force Toyota] to accept responsibility while avoiding the potentially crippling consequences of federal criminal convictions."
The report from WSJ also suggests that Toyota is facing charges that it "made false or incomplete disclosures" to various government agencies regarding possible defects to its cars. Such charges may include mail and wire fraud violations. Toyota has already paid out fines totaling $66.2 million to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration because it failed to report safety defects in a timely manner.
This deal with the federal government is not related to the billion-dollar class-action settlement reached with Toyota owners over falling vehicle values, and it's also different from the roughly 400 lawsuits still in courts alleging personal injury of wrongful death due to cases of unintended acceleration. In other words, don't expect to hear the end of such courtroom verdicts and settlements anytime soon...
