2008 Toyota Fj Cruiser!! Original Owner, No Accidents!!! Upgrades!!! on 2040-cars
Hillsborough, New Jersey, United States
I bought this Sand Beige 2008 FJ Cruiser new in August 2008. It has been my wife's daily driver. She absolutley loves this truck but it no long suits our family's needs. It has never been in an accident, has had the oil changed every 5000 miles with genuine Toyota filters, and Mobil 1 oil. The battery was replaced last year with a genuine Toyota, and the brakes were done once. It also has an ARB winch bumper, and 18" XD Rockstar wheels with Nitto Terrra Grappler tires(80% tread left) and the TPMS installed. I also have a set of Toytech from lift springs, new in the box. The truck will come with the factory front bumper, and the factory wheels and tires. They have approximately 5000 miles on them. I have a clear NJ title in my wifes name in hand. She is still currently driving the truck so the mileage will be slightly high upon purchase. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!! Call or text is need be. (908)-625-5502, ask for Jake. Buyer is responsible for pick up, or shipping of the truck, and any of the costs incured!! Thanks for looking!

Toyota recalling 800k Camry, Avalon and Venza models for AC issue
Thu, 17 Oct 2013Toyota has announced plans to voluntarily recall 803,000 vehicles from model years 2012 and 2013, over concerns with the air conditioning condenser housing. The recall covers the Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid and Venza, although the exact split between affected models wasn't available.
According to Toyota, the condenser can leak onto an airbag control module, which in turn could cause a short circuit. In most cases, this will just lead to an airbag warning light, but in rarer instances, the airbags could fail to deploy or pop out of their own accord. There's also a concern over a loss of power steering if the airbag control module develops a short.
It's unclear if there have been any injuries or crashes relating to the defects. Toyota will begin informing owners of affected vehicles via first class mail, and will ask them to report to dealerships for recall work, involving the installation of a cover on the condenser housing.
Toyota sells off Tesla shares, too
Fri, 24 Oct 2014The incredible rise of Tesla's stock price has done little to now stop two major shareholders from ditching their stake in the American EV manufacturer. First, Daimler, parent company of Mercedes-Benz, ditched its four-percent stake, and less than a week later, Toyota is doing the same thing, selling off an undisclosed bit of its Tesla investment.
The move comes as Toyota winds down sales of the RAV4 EV, which gets its batteries and electric motor from Tesla at the company's Fremont, CA factory.
"We have a good relationship with Tesla, and will evaluate the feasibility of working together on future projects," Toyota spokesperson Kayo Doi told Bloomberg via email.
Expedition drives from Russia to Canada over North Pole...
Tue, 21 May 2013No, a Ford Expedition did not drive from Russia to Canada via the North Pole, but that's exactly what a team of intrepid explorers accomplished recently. Using specially-modified buses with massive tires, the group slowly drove 2,485 miles in 70 days over drifting ice, occasionally using a pickaxe to clear a path and staying on guard for chasms that could open up and plunge the team into the frigid arctic waters. Average speeds were about 6 mph, "at the speed of a (farm) tractor." While the big tires technically allowed the buses to float if the need arose, the team preferred to stay out of the water to keep the suspension from getting coated in thick, hard ice. Falling in on foot would mean almost certain death.
According to Phys.org, the buses were powered by Toyota diesel engines, but were built with prototype parts from a previous driving expedition to the North Pole. Right now, the machines are parked in a garage in Canada's Resolute Bay while the the team rests up with family back home. They plan to continue their trek to back across the Bering Straight to Russia. If successful, the team may eventually offer a version of their buses for commercial sale.
