You are looking at a very nice 1995 Toyota Corolla Sedan. This reliable 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission beauty has 101,770 miles on it and still has a lot of life left in it. This is a clean good running very economical car. I think the Corollas of this age were one of the best cars ever made. There aren't many of them left as dealers in the Carribean Countries are shipping them out of the country by the thousands. They last a long time and are very reliable. The blue cloth interior has no rips or tears and is very clean and shows great, and the previous owner was a non-smoker! This car runs great , is pleasant to drive, and is a real gas saver...It was well maintained...and we love to see those oil change reminder stickers in the window...See pics... The Blue exterior shows well...Though there are some scratches and a touched up small scrape.....See pictures. Very little rust in this car as we are not in a rust prone area......The tires are all radials and look fine.... The 1.6litre 4cylinder motor starts right right up, has plenty of power...and doesn't smoke and runs great. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly. The clutch catches a little high but does not slip or grind... This is not that big of a deal and I have seen cars drive like that for thousands of miles....This gas saving Toyota Corolla will drive you home wherever you need to drive. Bid early to show interest....We will pick you up at the airport or bus or train station during normal business hours or by appt. We go the extra mile for you. We have been in business since 1948. Looking for a Cheap, Reliable, Economical Car? Buy this one you will like it. There is a $200.00 document fee on all vehicles sold. This covers Carfax, 60 day temp tags, postage, lien verification, and lets us sell with NO RESERVE. We aim to please and hope you will have a pleasant buying experience with us! Aston CEO claims Cygnet cancelled because Toyota is dropping iQ in 2014
Sun, 27 Oct 2013While slow sales and a $50,000 price tag may have been contributing factors to the Aston Martin Cygnet being cancelled last month, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is pointing the finger at Toyota for the demise of this luxurious little city car. In a discussion with Autocar, Bez is quoted as saying that the ultimate reason the Cygnet was cut is because Toyota plans on dropping the iQ (on which the Cygnet is based) in 2014 - a claim denied by the Japanese automaker.
Interestingly, the article also cites another publication reporting that a Toyota importer in the Netherlands heard the same news as Bez, and it has already stopped importing the cars. If the European Toyota iQ is cancelled, that would likely spell the end of the slow-selling Scion iQ in the US, which has sold just 3,365 units through September (a drop of 51 percent year over year).
Regardless of why production of the Cygnet ended, Bez also says that a lack of support from Toyota on the project prevented it from being offered in the US or receiving a supercharged engine, which are two factors that likely would have made the car appealing to more buyers.
Toyota unintended acceleration lawsuit settled for $16M
Mon, 08 Apr 2013Slowly, the many loose threads still dangling after the unintended acceleration issue Toyota faced a few years ago are being resolved. The Orange County District Attorney's office was believed to be the first DA's office to take Toyota to court, its suit alleging that Toyota knew its cars had defects and continued to sell them. The suit sought to "permanently enjoin Toyota from continued unlawful, unfair, deceptive, and fraudulent business practices as it pertains to both consumers and competitors" and asked for $2,500 "for every violation of the Unfair Business Practices Act," plus costs.
That suit has now been settled, Toyota - without admitting fault or wrongdoing - agreeing to pay $16 million to the county. Half of the money will go to the Orange County Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership, another four million dollars to the OC DA's office to investigate economic crime, the remaining four million being used to pay for the case.
Toyota asking NHTSA for fuel cell car safety exemption regarding electric shocks
Mon, 30 Jun 2014Toyota is requesting an exemption from federal safety regulations that govern electric cars as it prepares to launch a small-scale hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle fleet.
The Japanese automaker is targeting Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 305, which covers the packaging of high-voltage parts in electric cars. According to Uncle Sam, these systems need to be isolated so that passengers and first responders aren't electrocuted in the event of a crash. That seems pretty smart, but it's become a problem for Toyota's upcoming production fuel cell vehicle, as the mechanism that prevents electric shocks in low-speed crashes will apparently simply keep Toyota's car from even functioning.
Instead of the federally approved system, Bloomberg reports that Toyota plans to insulate the high-voltage wires and cables in the car, along with shielding electrical components like the fuel cells, electric motor and batteries with (presumably non-conductive) metal barriers.
