2011 Toyota Corolla Base Sedan 4-door 1.8l - Manual Transmission on 2040-cars
Dumfries, Virginia, United States
Up for sale is a 2011 Toyota Corolla base base model with manual transmission. I am selling it because I have more cars than drivers in my household and we need to downsize as we have too many vehicles. This car looks (for the most part) and drives like it is brand new. Every time I have it fully detailed (about every month), people think it is a brand new car! This car has never even housed any smokers (e.g. I have never let someone who smokes even ride with me, regardless of whether they even had cigarettes on them as I am very asthmatic.) Car had a regular 30,000 mile checkup in November and had all major fluids topped off as well as an oil change - I have religiously done this every 5,000 miles. Tire rotations are included in this as well. I am offering a FREE full detail (full wash outside and cleaning inside) to whomever purchases this car, if they wish to take me up on the offer. It will not be detailed unless you specifically ask for it. ***TITLE IS CLEAN - I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER (I purchased it brand new with cash in February 2011)*** See Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds Pricing below - they rate this car as having a MUCH higher value than I am listing it for. This deal is a steal!!! :-) Edmunds: |

How many Toyotas are potentially affected by seat fabric problem?
Fri, 31 Jan 2014When we reported yesterday on Toyota's stop-sale order of certain 2013 and 2014 models due to an issue with the fabrics on models with heated seats not conforming to flammability regulations, one of our many questions was how many vehicles were affected? More importantly, how many of those cars have already found homes?
Kelley Blue Book has the troubling statistics. Every 2013 and 2014 Avalon features heated seats. 6.2-percent of 2013 and 4.5-percent of 2014 Camry sedans, meanwhile, were sold with heated seats. That doesn't seem as bad as 100-percent of the larger Avalon, until you consider the Camry's huge volume - the 5.6-percent average still accounts for a lot of cars. Sienna minivans are heavily affected as well, with a total of 37-percent of 2013s and 46-percent of 2014s fitted with butt warmers. The stop-sale only affects 7-percent of 2014 Corolla models, but like the Camry, that number is rather misleading due to the sheer volume of cars Toyota moves. You can see the entire breakdown of percentages by clicking on the inset image.
According to Karl Brauer, a senior analyst for KBB, this problem comes at the worst possible time. "Given that much of the US is currently in the grips of a record cold snap, there's sure to be high demand for models with seat heaters," Brauer notes. The stop-sale order is a good first step, but it doesn't do anything to inform consumers who currently own the affected models and may, in these frosty temperatures, want to use their seat heaters. "Should owners of those vehicles stop using the seat heaters?" Brauer asked.
Oh, Kei Go: Toyota set to enter JDM minicar market?
Fri, 01 Oct 2010Toyota is looking to get bigger... by going smaller. The Japanese automaker is looking to enter the kei car market, a popular segment in its homeland. Kei cars are small vehicles with restrictions on length (11.15 feet), width (4.86 feet), engine size (660 cubic centimeters) and power output (63 horsepower). Currently, Toyota is the only Japanese automaker not producing vehicles for this segment, but that is set to change, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
Thanks to its relationship with Daihatsu, Toyota can jump right into the kei car game. Daihatsu is one of the largest producer of kei vehicles and it is currently owned by Toyota.
Although kei cars are restricted in terms of size and power, they are not restricted by technology. Automakers utilize different drive configurations, powertrains and amenities to keep their cars fresh. Daihatsu and Toyota plan to work together to produce Toyota-branded kei cars. The two companies will utilize Toyota's knowledge of electric and hybrid systems to produce efficient little vehicles for the Japanese market.
Toyota investing $30 million in Indiana for more Highlander production
Sun, 28 Jul 2013Indiana seems like the place to be if you're looking for work in a car factory. In May, Subaru announced plans to invest $400 million in its Lafayette, Indiana plant, creating 900 new jobs in the process and increasing capacity to 300,000 units per year. Now, Toyota has announced plans to invest $30 million in its Princeton, Indiana plant, 170 miles south of the Subaru factory, which also builds the Camry.
Toyota's investment will create an additional 200 jobs and increase the factory's volume by 15,000 units. Toyota announced an investment in the plant in February of 2012 that bumped volume up from 300,000 to 350,000 units. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, as the Princeton facility is officially known, produces the recently revised Toyota Highlander, the Sequoia and the Sienna. It employs 4,500 people, and this announcement represents Toyota's tenth production increase in under two years.
